What about a triple decker, using 3 slices of bread with all the other goodies in between and cheese to glue it?

For those that don't like the broodjie to crunchie and dry wrap it in wax paper. It will still have a nice brown colour but not dry and hard.

It does. Unbuttered bread: (fanie)dry and tendency to burn. Buttered: golden and crispy. BTW lightly buttered, not boere-buttered.
