Brave Browser - very impressive

My browser started wheezing and causing fans to fire up yesterday and I just could not understand why. They must have changed something as I would have tons of tabs opened before and there wouldn't be any issues and the fans wouldn't even kick in.

For me that has always been the case with Brave. Granted I mostly use it for social networks access like farcebook - but if I open the exact same set of tabs in Edge or Firepox the CPU usage is lower. I have often thought to myself that maybe Brave allows some kind of crypto mining workloads to be executed in the background if you exceed a given threshold of system resources?

I have always advocated brave because I have never had any issues and even when i install a new browser like Arc or Orion - Brave would still seem faster somehow so I end up keeping it. But the issues started with brave on iOS not opening a safari bookmark of chatgpt - then on desktop it started making my pc sweat for no good reason.

The key feature of Brave is its ability to effectively block undesirable inbound and outbound network traffic. As a result, web pages load significantly faster when compared to other browsers. Additionally, Brave requires fewer plugins, which conserves RAM and, to a noticeable but minimal extent, contributes to improved performance compared to browsers like Chrome.

What I find strange is that Brave appears twice on this list

There is 32Gb RAM on the board, so it does not slow down as far as I can make out

Maybe it is some of the background processes? Then again, they are normally only the updater. Even if I open an "incognito-oortjie" I still only see one Brave.
