Brave Browser - very impressive

They're bloating Edge up so much. Classic M$ enshittification.
Took me roughly ~10 minutes on my moms laptop to remove 95% of the bloat on Edge
Disabled the rewards rubbish; switched to Google; changed the new tab page to Google; Disabled their ‘discover’ bs

It can become pretty clean if you put some time into it, but I personally still daily drive Brave.
For new users however, definitely recommend Edge for the performance and simplicity!

Takes me 0 seconds to remove the bloat from Brave

I like the rewards built into Edge, saves me from having to get Honey and it does get me 10% off each time I buy on wish.com
The discover new tab is also pretty cool as it aggregsates news that I am interested in. I still prefer Google over Bing but that might change in future.

Brave is still my 2nd browser of choice. I do not have Chrome installed and firepox is only there because TubeDigger integrates to it.

We only use Chrome because some services we use require it. Normally it was only the Microsoft browser that was accepted but times have changed.

However privately I use both Firefox and Brave. Firefox is very customizable and allows me to install and control it better. Brave on the other hand is a very robust and secure browser I have no complaints about it.

Do you buy from wish.com? If so how do you get your things delivered? I would like to buy from wish.com but unfortunately, a lot of the products are questionable and I know of friends that had not received their deliveries in two years.

If you can start a thread on how to work with wish.com, that would be much appreciated.

Wish.com have a deal with SAPO so you will have to collect it at your nearest post office and pay a R35 handling fee. Bigger items tend to come in with Buffalo logistics who will either deliver to your door or get another courier to deliver to your door. That has been my experience so far with wish.com over the last few years.

For the most part, Wish to SA is pretty decent now; orders get shipped _mostly_ on time.

But as you mentioned, a lot of the products are questionable; there are dozens of YT videos of people going in depth into the scams on Wish, so best practice is to use your common sense when shopping there.
e.g. you are not going to get a 1TB USB for a dollar.

Not too bad - I think I'm going to miss Safari's bookmark shortcuts though.

Never tried Brave, probably should.

Seems sometimes opera has worse memory usage, as I have only 18 tabs open, mostly Youtube

I'm using Brave on my mobile. Mobile browsers without ad blocking causes eye cancer.

New Vertical Tabs in Brave seems quite interesting. Kinda like it, but years of muscle memory whereby flinging the mouse to the top is a bit weird to get over.
Makes Brave look fullscreen. Apparently Edge has had something similar for a while.

Vertical Tabs, and with hover:

Quite interesting. Trying it out and I think I can get used to it. It's akin to having pinned list icons of all the open tabs. Now have to figure out what to do with the sidebar.

I think Opera may have had this a long time ago, but yes Edge has it. Never got used to it, still prefer the horizontal tabs.

On iOS Brave sucks. It drains battery power. So I got the Vinegar plugin for Safari which takes out the ads on YT. I pay for a Google account which I hardly use in case people start to say that's being cheap. :)

I also noticed having issues with the brave browser on ios - for example even if i bookmark a website as an "app" - brave will not open it up chatgpt for example. Its lightening fast but find myself relying on safari or google or orion.

Has anyone noticed that the new update has changed the browser's User Agent? We have a really stupid encrypted video chat system that requires Chrome and Brave has always worked perfectly, but now it doesn't.
