Hi guys

Please assist if you can, i am busy repairing a laptop with winXP sp3 installed, i get a BSOD BAD POOL CALLER error, even when trying to boot up into safe mode. Cannot do a system restore. Running erd commander and can't do much there aswell as it goes into the BSOD.

What other options do i have before reinstalling or formatting??

Thanks

If ERD gives a BSOD, check the hard drive settings in the BIOS, it should be set to native, or compatibility, or something in that line.

Try the bios option 'load safe settings', or something like that - there is normally 3 (optimised settings etc)

Unfortunately this is a very basic BIOS utility, all i can do is basically reset to factory defaults which i did.
