ubuntu boot fail, and windows 10 no boot

i tried that, all of that and i got access denied on command prompt for bootrec /fixXXXX/xxxx/Xxx

Hmm.

Weird one.

But yeah may be worth resetting BIOS to defaults and trying again.

It sounds like your Windows install is intact and just the boot loader needs fixing.

It can’t change the BIOS. I just changed the bootloader as you instructed it to do.

The BIOS was however wrong for the bootloader configuration and just needs updating.

It’s 2022, you shouldn’t be using Legacy mode and expecting modern results.

Ubuntu has done this for at least the last decade.

Even Windows 10 really shouldn’t be used in Legacy any more.

No it said there is a windows 10 and its gonna let ubuntu control the boot options.I assume this setting was default.Oh no yes it is default

Yes and you accepted those conditions.

Windows boot loader doesn’t support Linux so it has to be replaced with the Linux boot loader.

correct but the windows installation and advanced repair options is not working getting error and cmd error ont bootrec/fix mbr-access denied
 
Hmm something like GParted (on the Ubuntu Live) might help to let you completely delete the boot partition.

Then MAYBE Windows can repair it once it’s been blanked.

Nothing to lose really.

My suspicion yes.

As I recall you need to jump a few hoops to make legacy more work on Ubuntu these days.
 
so i managed to fix grub but a strangething is when ubuntu boot the laptop screen display the password enter window and not the the 50 inch tv connected as main screen. only after the login i see the drivers take over,What strange system this linux

really, i loved putting all laptops in legacy mode when i install window OS's to those,i find it better oldschool.But now i think i am gonna get with the times

Look linux is ok nothing wrong with it but its not a lazy man game,Yiu actually have to put in work to make things work as its not as easy as windows where you can relax and just click a .exe etc.Linux is command line based....Without that you really cant do much.
Ubuntu 2-windows 1,she has won this time but next time we will vs again

Out of interest, can you remember if you ever disabled fast boot (or fast startup) in Windows in the past?

that is disabled in bios.i also checked that lol. as soon as you change uefi setting those setting get disabled or greyed out.wait le me restart this pc and do the changes. i mean the worst is over right...right

strange but i was using vmware with ubuntu but the vmwaretools was giving me error even opentools was not working properly and then i decided i need to fix this by installing ubuntu.And this is where the story ended.
