Buthelezi slams affirmative action

I will answer,

I want an equal society, but after decades of inequality, we have to bring blacks up to the standard of whites, so that we can have this equality. This means that as suitably qualified blacks emerge from Universities, etc, they are given preference in the workplace - if this were not enforced - whites who were in control of the wealth, would not give them a chance - this was proven before AA was introduced - in fact one can say that the attitude of the whites are responsible for AA.

You will now respond with no basic understanding of this concept, but I have come to accept that, as many of you don't comprehend simple logic
How is discrimination against whites changing any of the above? It isn't. It is simply making the job situation, the power supply situation and a hundred other situations worse. Exactly as apartheid did. Well done, welcome to the gulag!!

xtermin8or : You know which side of the fence I normally am in these sort of debates, but this time, you are way off base

The sentence implies that you want all white people to leave the country for the benefit of black people.

What am I implying
Let's rather employ unqualified, uneducated people with no clue of their jobs, to get rid of whites: no matter the cost to the country. There the truth is out. Are we happy now? Non, except in our racist pipe dream.

I have always said that I have no problem with people leaving the country, if you want go, black or white, makes no difference to me, if you don't like the conditions you are living under leave, that is your constitutional right.

The proof that blacks were not given a chance lies in the fact that AA and BEE was promulgated and enacted

One cannot sit around and wait for an equal society to emerge after decades of inequality, you have to proactively correct the situation

incentives for blacks to join the economy and grow it ? what are you talking about, for most blacks just getting a job is incentive enough.

Now you agree with a man who says whites should be given incentives to stay in the country, what utter arrogance

It comes down to the ideology of white supremacy - you believe that whites are superior and anything that is not controlled by whites is doomed to failure - you believe as has been stated in this forum that the cultures, traditions and beliefs of non-white cultures are backwards and barbaric, it has been said that whites have a superior work ethic to blacks, it has even been mentioned in the past that whites are more intelligent than other race groups - is this not white supremacy ?

I think I have responded to everyone

The law clearly states, that preference should be given to suitably qualified people of designated groups ( blacks, coloureds, indians )

the idea that they are unqualified, uneducated people, with no clue of their jobs is a perception stemming from your own bigotry

at what price - keep whites in the country so that blacks don't have a chance to get good jobs and improve their lot

Like comrade Linda Mti as 1 mere example? and you wonder why people question these policies?

edit: as for incentive for whites, I think that is also reaching, but surely do not alienate those that have the necessary skills to build a nation whilst upskilling the previously disadvantaged.

Very nice to see that you ignored my previous post and still somehow think that incentive = privilege

Lol @ xterminator

Since Buthelezi gained so much from the Apartheid regieme, it's no wonder he longs for the good old days

He he...
I can think of quite a few individuals who have benefited from the apartheid Regime as we so often call it... if Buthelezi has benefited, then I ask all telkom shareholders to stand up and be counted too... including *shock* the majority shareholder!

Oh... I imagine they will continue to benefit on a scale that outweighs even Buthelezi's benefits...
Getting back to reality... seriously, if the detractor is white, he is a racist, if he is black, he benefited from racism... simple logic (no need to apply the mind).

It is not proof.

I meant create jobs, create companies, create new boards, create new products, create new markets. The opportunity is there, but people like you would rather just replace whites with blacks in existing positions then work to create new ones.

Thanks for stating what you perceive to be my beliefs - but you are wrong. All you do by saying rubbish like this is further emphasise how racist you are.

I think I have responded to everyone

You certainly have shown your true colours. I don't think anyone could mistake you for what you are.

Ag, nobody is asking for incentives; buthelezi was making a point of perception, what he perceives is happening in the country due to this governments racist policies. Which part of this picture aren't you seeing?

One cannot sit around and wait for an equal society to emerge after decades of inequality, you have to proactively correct the situation
You are running the country and the economy, what more do you want? You have 45 million opportunties to create jobs without discrimintating against anybody. But no, that's not good enough, all your bases be ours, otherwise you can leave the country. What sickness is upon the land?

You are dreaming your own private nightmare, it certainly not be ours.

sorry, busy responding to the other posts,

Since white people in this country have a very low unemployment rate ( around five percent ) and still own majority of the wealth and land in the country, increasing this with incentives, would be giving them a privilege

For whites to say we are leaving and the country will go down without us, is arrogant, like I said if you want to leave, leave to improve yourself, but always consider this home, and niemand kak op sy eie voorstoep nie

I try to think before I speak

.

incentive = privilege

Read the article carefully. Incentive was the word that the reporter used in summarising what Buthelezi said. Buthelezi is calling for equal treatment, not special privilege.

Certain 'incentives', such as the reduction of crime, would benefit all South Africans regardless of skin colour..

AA in principle is a worthy cause, but its implementation leaves much to be desired. The wrong people get punished, and only some of the right people get rewarded, IMO.

Yes, the imbalances of the past need to be rectified, but I think government went about it all wrong. All the corruption and monkey business over the last 12 years has marred what a great country we could have had by now. It seems too many ANC politicians and well-connected business people have had only their self-interests at heart. I often wonder was this their goal when they dreamed of an end to the white regime of the past...

EDIT: Sorry, what I forgot to add was that it seems a bit harsh to deny young white south africans an equal chance to get jobs. If anything, they are the most innocent and what good does it do to have them unemployed after possibly spending considerable money on tertiary education. All we are doing in this case is creating resentment and wasting the country's resources.

W.R.T. the older skilled whites, IMO, the ANC threw out the baby with the dirty bath water!

Interesting, whos stats and which dates?
Would like to see if some crimes have their own specific categories now, hence creating the impression that crime is down.
