Has anybody used Alibaba recently and had good service? Would you recommend them and are they safe to use?
I'm looking at a product they have but reluctant to send them R12k and not getting anything!
Also, if not Alibaba are there any secure alternatives selling the same range of products?

They're alright - dont buy anything fragile, I tried a cute cup and saucer and it was delivered in pieces.
For electronics it works great
Only buy things that are labeled as "tax free delivery" - then it is not post office but rather couriered with buffalo and you will actually get it
Most things take a month or so to be delivered so be prepared for that
