Buying a gaming PC

I would not buy an i3. I would much rather get a haswell i5 before a skylake i3.

The i3-6100 will beat an i5-2500k but only when paired with high speed ddr4 on a z-series MB which you pay extra for but in some games 4 proper cores will still beat the 2cores+2threads i3-6100. Recall this from a eurogamer/digital foundry benchmark. The newer i5's will do better.

It would be interesting to find out how many people upgrade their cpus. i`ve never bought a new cpu for an old pc, especially if it was old architecture. eg: wouldn`t bother upgrading my core 2 duo to a core 2 quad.

I don't think it's worth it, you usually do a full cpu/mb/ram upgrade to get real benefits.

You only plan on one monitor? If so the 1070 is overkill.

Actually i was just looking at my monitor now. And thinking that i really need one. But i cant fit it on my desk.

Or get a 1440p monitor at least. If you're planning on sticking to 1080p, then I'd downgrade that GPU and save a bit of change.
