Hi, I'm planning on getting my brother the Daniel Craig James bond collection (can't find it anywhere in south African stores). I checked on Amazon and got the total but I'm worried about other charges I might have to pay before receiving my purchase. What fees will I incur on a purchase of R413/ÂŁ24.40 standard shipping included?

Don't be worried, Amazon UK/US/FR/maybe others that ship here all give you the final amount you pay.

If customs charges less than what Amazon quotes, Amazon will refund the difference.
If customs charges more than what Amazon quotes, Amazon will cover that fee and not you.

:)

/based on feedback from the users who order from here and other forums along with 3 small orders we placed with Amazon US over the last 5/6 years. :)

That's great. I thought there would be some hidden costs like duties

You've set your delivery address to SA?
That 3.50 seems very low.
Won't that get stuck with SAPO?

^^^ Basically just ask this person (Scott) to import the item for you.
You don't want it getting stuck with SAPO.
Send him the link to the item and you'll get a quote.

"Standard Delivery" is via post, "AmazonGlobal" is courier.

Last time I did standard delivery it still came via courier (DHL) but you have to deal with the duty fee payments when it gets into the country. Was still pretty painless though, DHL just sent me the invoice and I paid online.

Will probably depend what Amazon thinks is the best shipping option at the time, so it will probably differ.

This was the additional costs for my ÂŁ47.99 item (my shipping was ÂŁ3.58):

Code:
Total Duty and VAT	ZAR 130.34
Disbursement Fee	ZAR 150.00

Recently experienced the same with Amazon UK(DHL), customer is liable to pay customer duties which was a shock to me cause normally when making use of Amazon US(Aramex) everything is covered just one telephone call to update package with ID number etc.

Quickly sent Amazon UK an email and immediately they refunded the import duties fee and carrier fee but waiting for amazon to come back to me if they will clear the custom fee on my behalf.......

Anyone purchased from Amazon UK recently? Is the full price all inclusive as per checkout or are the recent experiences major additional costs when it lands in SA ?

I bought the steelbook version of Metaphor Refantazio for PC from Amazon UK. I paid exactly what it showed at checkout, nothing else.

Thanks for confirming and type of purchase, was hoping the experience improved since the last post! Looking at purchasing some electronics and not keen on massive fees once it lands

It will show you all the duties at checkout which is all included up front.

If it ends up cheaper they refund you if it ends up more they cover it.
