Bye Bye MWEB

Remember - These are the people who say that users don't need uncapped (Whilst the forum is littered with people downloading 200GB+ a month), ignore customer complaints, take forever to do new line requests, and will happily let a user on a 4MB Line download at 50kb/s local.

So - A speed-update card? From Telkom?

I doubt it...

Agreed on the cap usage, but I requested a line install and it was done in just over 2 days from the request, and a further 3 days for 4mbps adsl. So they are certainly jacked up in the installation field. Well in cpt anyway...

@Koosi: How did you determine that it was Mweb @ fault and not Telkom?
Used my contacts within Telkom to assist me, and then later got MWEB to admit the line figures look really good! I am really close to the exchange.
Moved the ADSL to another line physically, results are also the same mediocrity, packet loss and the usual slow speeds.

This is the problem with MWEB:
The upper management doesn't have a clue what is really going on. I've tried, you cannot speak to anyone who is really senior in rank there, i.e. someone above the call centre supervisors and so-called 2nd level support. These people keep all the k@k well hidden from the upper management. The upper management, on the other hand, are very eager to appease the shareholders so they will not spend a cent extra on more infrastructure to cope with rising bandwidth demands and new clients. MWEB has simply gotten too big and is now a lethargic, slow-to-react, uncaring monster, just like Telkom.

I disagree. I posted a request for help on mweb's facebook wall on friday and was answered in 8 minutes, and the issue was resolved in less than an hour with a courtesy call and email to confirm all was sorted...

So am I a liar now....
Unfortunately sorry to burst your bubble but I have records, proof where MWEB are giving me the cold shoulder since '09. Let's see... I have:

E-mails
Times and dates of phone calls and people I spoke to
a book full of reference numbers

Either you are lucky or MWEB are reluctant to deal with certain customers or they discriminate. Which is it? I don't know. All I do know is that MWEB is about to get the boot!

That may well be the case, I'm just saying that I had excellent service on friday. Calls, pm's and rectification of the issue raised. No need to burst my bubble :)

Try mweb guy on the mweb page if you aren't coming right otherwise...

If you still aren't happy, I recommend trying openweb. Also great service from Keoma and his team.

The only reliable uncapped / semi-shaped package I am aware of is offered by Altech:

http://www.techconcepts.co.za/

How can you recommend that, its not proper unshaped and they block all P2P! That package is a joke

Hi Koosi

Best not to get upset, as most seem to have an emotional attachment to their choice of ISP / brand and although this type of behaviour is the norm on this forum, it is completely illogical and or irrational.

I would suggest voting with your wallet as soon as you are able to and base your future choice of ISP only on facts, e.g. price, service, throughput, shaping, reliability, etc.

As for the cancellation, download this: http://cocacola.za.net/images/MWEB_T...tion_Form.doc and complete it and send a scanned copy to [email protected] and fax it to 021 596 8915 and phone 021 596 8820. Insist on a reference number take down the consultant's name and date and time of the call. This will prevent MWEB of charging you for an additional month.

Troll detected, yes it does take one to see one.did you even watch mybb awards.Rudi was one of the few saying uncapped is possible and they will keep increasing the bandwidth available.so please be an informed troll, or atleast a funny one.

:erm:
most games need p2p & so does skype & others...

Silly to recommend something when it won't serve the person's requirements...

/not an mweb fan either or shall I say not an uncapped/murdered(read shaped) fan

Note the word "Business" in the advert, Skype, etc. is not affected.

The OP himself even admitted he uses the connection for torrents.

I hope you get better service from your next ISP, you will ofcourse post here to let us know what the difference is like?

Note the thought that some business users might need legit P2P usage!
exactly

& let's go a lil further. I'm sure the OP wants to play a few games......oh sorry those are blocked.

P2P is needed by lotsa things.

& business has sweet blue monkey ....to do with blocking p2p.

So in my opinion that's not a true business package suggested there....

As far as p2p is concerned

I pull updates for one of our Linux servers, from the p2p networks, on a regular basis.
Legitimate use!
