Not a viable strategy; As two of the ISP's you have mentioned are reliant on the highly unstable Internet Solutions (IS) backbone and the other mentioned ISP's bandwidth is heavily shaped - therefore testing with these might yield unexpected results.
I would go with Reuben's suggestion or investigate: http://www.measurementlab.net/
As for MWEB, it seems the novelty has worn off and most understand the pitfalls of uncapped and or shaped internet offerings.
@ NoStiC - Rest assured you are not alone in your frustration. I normally advise those that find themselves in a similar predicament, to stay well clear of any ISP that shape bandwidth, offer uncapped products and or utilise IS' infrastructure and rather opt for a high volume capped account.
This will allow for a pleasant and reliable internet experience.
You resell bandwidth yourself don't you? Good advice.
I have threatened MWEB, even threatened them today (they dared to call here about 10 minutes ago)
They don't care.. I suspect they hold a grudge because I threw my toys out the cot on a previous occasion and phoned some managers at the top.
I don't care.. I am tired of getting crapped on by the boss 'cause the internet doesn't work almost every day.
The only reliable uncapped / semi-shaped package I am aware of is offered by Altech:

and telkom looking like it may play a speed-update card soon
Short answer: NO.The real problem is simply is MWEB's R219 384 uncapped service worth it?
MWEB has simply gotten too big and is now a lethargic, slow-to-react, uncaring monster, just like Telkom.
