C.A.P.E. party

The figure I have heard is that the Cpe gets R58 out of every R100 collected.
Independence has a certain charm to it but imo is not really workable. Just look a the power problem, if the Cape would be independent would the rest of SA feel obliged in some way to make up for the electricity generation shortfall when Koeberg goes down? Remember that they are short in Gauteng as well.
The Western Cape could just become a neglected area, quaint and nice for a holiday (for how long) but economically on a downward slope. Border tariffs, neglected road infrastructure beyond the WC borders could make it a long-term struggle with no win in the end.
 
I personally believe the Western Cape & the Northern Cape (half of SA :D)... could do well on its own... :)
and yes there will be hurdles... but in the end... will be better of not being destroyed by an ANC goverment... as they are hell-bent on doing :(
We have started our path to victory... and on our own or still in the republic of SA... we will be the place of dreams to come
 
How can you run an economy in a place where nobody returns calls, arrives on time for a meeting, or works after 15h30 in the afternoon (14h30 on Fridays).

The reason that Cape region wouldn't work as an independent state? Work ethic.

how are we meant to get to Forries or La Med if we work till 5pm??!!!

And why should we arrive on time for a meeting with vaalies who only hold meetings to decide when the next meeting will be? :D

Shhh genetic. By making the Cape independant, crime will dissapear, did you not know that? There are plenty of studies on this..

The Cape will also have a dynamic and viable economy based off tourists and wine. They don't need platinum, gold, diamonds, factories, financial centres and stock exchanges located in other parts of South Africa. They also don't need to go through the trouble of being recogonised as an independant state by the UN and will do very well in trade.
 
So their website doesn't work properly yet...at least they've got vision. I'd vote for them - hell I'll get my whole family to vote for them.
