*CABLE BREAK* affecting Gauteng region

Did the cable break influence the operation of the Vodacom Direct call centre as well? I've been disconnected 15 times trying to get through, thanks

That's their normal standard of service .... mediocre at best!

And can you imagine when one calls through asking for technical assistance, they tell you to reboot or remove and re-insert the SIM!! Do they really think I would not have done all those things BEFORE resorting to the call centre?

Picture it:

It's the final of the 2O1O soccer world cup .. the game is drawn at 2-2 and a pensive second half awaits. More than 60 million viewers world wide are enthralled at the spectacle.

Meanwhile, a small plumbing team has begun working on a what appears to be a leaky water pipe near Midrand ...
In what stadium would this final be played?

Then there needs to be another plumber on the other side of the stadium to dig up the redundant fibre. (2 x 20GB fibre links to every stadium)

Then there must be a massive electrical/thunderstorm to interfere with the redundant redundant satellite feed!!

In Melrose, using Vodacom 3G - local sites basically unreachable, however intl sites can be accessed if you can bear waiting 10 minutes...
Used WL in hotel, all works 100%...

Seems like Melrose area is up, started working approx 2 minutes ago...

Killarney 9pm, struggled to even connect. I've managed to connect after try number 7 but speeds aren't very good. Vodacom speed test 448kbps down and 858kpbs up (yes, that is the correct way around!)

Speedtest:

Was at JHB airport today in the arvie, connection was fine on their wireless and 3G, Fourways area was putrid.

In PE now, running great.

Morning Guys

Everything up and running? as per information received all services should be up and running as from 21:21 SAIX link has been restored.

Regards
VodacomData

Kinda getting fed up, im on IBurst who go through Vodacom. They have put through tickets on High latency issues through since 29/06 to Vodacom/Saix with no resolution and since yesterday iBurst is still messed up and unusable.

Sad for Vodacom/iBurst, I plug in my MTN 3G modem and latency is 100% normal and a whole lot better than Vodacom/iBurst.
