Been using 3g for gaming since 2007 so here goes
- What is the problem (lag, latency, ping, disconnects)
LLAAAGGGGG!!!! heavy delays followed by spiking, then gg for me coz im dropped
- What game are you playing (is it a FPS, real-time or turn based etc)
War3
- Which data card are you using
E200, SE w660 (3g only), Nokia E51 (hsdpa)
- Is it a new problem or has it always been
Last 3 months
- Is the problem experienced at all times of the day or only during peak hours
All the time. Iv tried at 3am/4am just to be sure
- The exact location so we can also check the site covering you
Strand, Helderberg area
- The modem type and firmware rev.
e220 11.314.12.02.00
- The APN you used
internet
Since Dec2008/Jan 2009 this problem has come along, pings of 300+(probably since the upgrade to the network). Before that pings of 140~180 were the norm (using w660 and e51 then). Got this e220 recently and nothings changed, tbh it looks as if it takes longer to connect to the war3 server with the e220 than with the phones. Signal strength is almost permanently excellent and hsdpa is there half the time.
Gna check if i get the same problem in Bellville, cpt central and up the westcoast then share the results
