Cancel ADSL line and get LTE instead?

Web Africa are offering LTE via Rain

A friend has LTE and his throughput varies from a low of 0.8mb/s to 28mb/sec during the day. He is well within the coverage area, as I am

Web Africa say their network is much better and I will never experience this

I suggested a test for a day or two, but they say I must buy it and if it does not work, will get a refund. I am suspicious of this since Neotel told me the same thing a few years back and when I came to return it, I was told I must have "misunderstood" since they never make that kind of offer, Neotel's equipment became junk and I had to dispose of it, losing several thousand Rand

Web Africa do my hosting and seem reliable enough, but once bitten twice shy

I am well within the LTE coverage area

Friend received his iBurst (piggybacks Vodacom) LTE-A modem 3 weeks ago. Excellent speeds (20mb +) and very satisfied

Another friend got his through MTN, he lives in Hout Bay, opposite the harbour. From day 1 it gave maximum 0.9mb. MTN (lady by the name of Karen) said if it did not work, they would take it back and refund him. He called them after having had it for 3 days. They advised him there is a contract and if he did not read the fine print, then it is his lookout. Their lady is not authorised to give warranties like that

How are you supposed to know that someone, working for a company who promises X, Y and Z, only to find out it is all BS and there is no X, Y and Z after all?

Arent calls recorded , going to be a mission but if he can get that wont that help

Hi All,

We currently have a 8mb ADSL line with Telkom, but we are looking at getting uncapped LTE.

Our area has LTE of up to 90mb. We mostly use our ADSL line for streaming Netflix and Showmax and we have 2 devices connected to wi-fi at all times.

Is it a good idea to switch to LTE? What have your experiences been? I'm not very clued up on these things :)

honestly been using neotel for 2 years now and no problem.

Yes, all calls are recorded. They have been looking for it since 21st June. Surely phone calls are catalogued as to caller party and time? Initially, they could not even find his contract, but he traced that from the debit order made on 29th June

Lte is not an upgrade to adsl that is working but rather an alternative where adsl is not available or doesn't not work very well.
