Can't remove bathroom basin!

basin bolts are for holding it against a wall with no vanity underneath.. mine is rest plonked on top...

see nothing holding it down with superior force

it must be glued on proper
cut the thing and break it
Yeah, Just remove the counter top, or the wall, or the foundation, or the whole house town country and earth.

Wait

What if that sink being fastened down is the only thing keeping this country together?

What then?

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

That basin is just sitting on the top with silicon holding it. Use a thin strong wire to cut through silicon like advised on first page. Once most silicon was cut you can loosen any remainder silicon by holding two opposite corner of basin and twisting clockwise and anti clockwise to loosen everything

Why would they use so much glue?
Remove the drain and put your fingers in and try from the middle.

does a better job holding up than @ShaunSA

he would have broken down by now

I reckon the previous owner bolted the basin to a sheet of the counter top, then sandwiched that piece of wood to one below and put new edging on...

Just to piss on Khans battery a bit.

I am in the industry . Get a steel wire get it underneath a corner and pull cut through the silicone.

What grade of silicone can get this hard?
It doesn't get hard. When you put something like a heavy basin on top of a flat surface it spread out into a thin layer. That thin layer is will not move or feel flexible, but is very strong.
I prefer using clear silicon to stick many things, works great and much cheaper than no more nails and other similar glues. Glues that gets hard can easily crack loose..
I don't think people realize what a great glue silicon is. I have stuck toilets that came loose from their cement base, lose tiles and many things with clear silicon and even after 10 years it still holds. Only problem with silicon is it take some time to dry, so sticking something on like a wall is a problem, you have to get something to keep it place till silicon have dried.

So hard that a hack saw can’t remove it? (Giving Khan benefit of the doubt here)
Could be a type of cement or grouting maybe.
