Remove countertop, get jigsaw and cut around it. Get scrapers and chisel. Chisel the wood away. Stop before getting to the basin. Scrape the rest of.

You going to need lots of Elbow Grease, most hardware shops stock it, dont matter what brand you get. It eventually works, but is time consuming.

The very last resort to calling in an airstrike, is to cut it out with a jigsaw and put a new counter top on.. The counter top just needs redoing, I was thinking of just repainting it, thought it might look nice and modern.
