Cape Town Fire/Smoke Alert Thread

I can't stress this enough to you... does not matter what the packaging is.

So long it's ice cold water or cool drink, they will appreciate it more than you can imagine.

Bar ones, biscuits, sweets, matters not.

Liquids more than anything I think because you sweat like a mother trucker.

I am encouraging everyone in the office to try doing a rain dance - I know we won't get enough rain to put all the fires out, but at least some rain would be a help.....
 
gdiza if you need any drinks water etc. For Thursday please let me know. Was at Vergelegen and Morgenster today!

Fire still raging on, smoke seems to be whiter than earlier this morning. However seems to be the same story everyday.

At least there is less wind today!
 
I hope the fire is out by Thursday :)

... well... kinda... I mean, I want to go - get some fire hours, but at the same time, I want the fire to be out - it's been going on long enough now!

Yes, there is a fire near Table Mountain... my GF SMS'd me now to tell me that the helicopter is flying very low over my place in Vredehoek.

That f'ing arsonist must watch his back... because I'm going to be chewing on it! :mad:
 
The thing is Linoman, Table Mountain is semi okay boet... The veg is too young to really burn hectically (like Somerset West)

If there is fires, It will not be too crazy, and having said that... lately, when there is fires, it seems that we throw EVERYTHING at it so its out before it can even start.

By "WE" I mean the city of cape town.
 
Really pi$$es me off...why not ban flicking out stompies already?? In other countries ppl get fined for doing that??? Hope they catch these clowns!!!! :mad:
 
People are trying to catch the buggers, that I promise you!

My GF says it's in the direction of the quarry... there was a fire there last week Friday but it was out very quick.

Maybe it's back again - not sure but it's in that general area.
