Slowly now....

Do you need the voluntary consent of all members in the political union, called "South Africa", in order for that union to be legitimate?

Can anyone legally in South Africa move to the Western Cape currently? Yes

Would they be able to do so if the WC was independent? No

Do you believe all South Africans need to agree to this? No

Ergo, mutual consent is only of interest to you when it suits you.

End of.

The point stands, they had to make a decision to stand up for themselves, by seceding, or being eradicated from the face of the earth.

Taking an historical view of South Sudan's route to independence doesn't start on independence day.

p.s. Reminder to self......Pinkos don't read history.

Yes, the WC is totally at risk of being eradicated from the face of the earth. 🙄

You didn't answer the question, vigras.

Here it is again....

"Do you need the voluntary consent of all members in the political union, called "South Africa", in order for that union to be legitimate?"

I'm not answering your silly deflecting questions, as you routinely fail to answer anything I ask you.

You'll have to tag some unsuspecting victim into your insanity I'm afraid. Is @mushroom still around?

If the WC people were to decide to secede it will be up to the rest of SA to decide if it is peaceful.

If someone came and took your car, it would similarly be up to you to decide whether or not to respond with violence.

If someone offered to buy your car and you accepted, a peaceful transaction would likely take place.

A secession ‘decision’ isn’t actually possible until it’s informed - and an informed decision requires negotiated certainty on borders, citizenship, assets, debt, legality and recognition. Without that groundwork, the outcome is undefined. The only reasonable chance of success would be a guaranteed peaceful & legal separation acceptable to all.

One suspects it would be fine, most people trapped in a quicksand pool of muck would at least want to see any others who can get out succeed in that effort.

Just a quick visit

Well, well...

There it is, folks, when it comes down to the meat and potatoes... vigras thinks groups requiring consentual membership, to have legitimacy as a group, is 'silly deflection'.

If anyone insists on adherence to this staple of Western civilization, they are 'victimizing' him.

Spoken like a true ..... well I guess he is showing more than simply pinko colours, now....we are at the business end i.e. Commie or Facist, depending on whether he has a thing for public-private partnerships..

There it is folks, yet another wall of waffle, sprinkled with the usual laughable clichés from the lexicon of Lexity.

Agree

Do you think that South Africa, as a union, is legitimate? And if not, by what mechanism would you ever be able to gain voluntary consent from all members?

You’re describing positions never taken and assigning motives never expressed. All that reveals is the framing you need, not the reality.

Its legitimised every election and every day we are not thrown into civil war.
