That puts it .2sec and .6sec behind the Fiesta ST and mighty Polo GTI respectivly. Take the standard +-6 percent difference, driver error, reaction times, gear shifts etc and are you telling me the Polo takes the other two everytime by many car lengths?

At worst if take it every single time as you claim, I suspect its close at the reef. At the coast though, I'd suspect the RSI to have the edge.

As mentioned, I've been ahead of both an ST and Golf 4 110kw which ties in with what I see in other tests (and logic)
 
IIRC, it was similar to coastal ... I'm at work though, so can't double check ...
 
So what makes the PGTi faster than the 110kw? Cant be the weight difference only...

I actually reckon they're very similar ... and I think the Fiesta ST and RSI are also very similar
 
My iPhone recorded a 0 - 100 in 7.3 seconds...
So far the phones been very accurate.

I had ESP off, but would it have made such a big difference? My worst time was 8.0s
 
Lol I know it's the force of the impact. However I don't trust those figures because their test conditions are not clear.

What was the mass of the vehicle? What was the mass of the other vehicle? This is obviously a very important factor since it contributes to the momentum (and hence the force). A fully loaded taxi weighing over 2 tons and moving at 64km/h (a very likely SA scenario) will cream an oncoming Citi Golf moving at the same speed. Everyone involved in that collision is at risk of losing their life.

Well said. What i remember back from high school basic physics principle force = mass X velocity. We all think driving 5-10km/h more is no biggy but this slight increase in speed has a huge impact on force in the event of a collision.
