Carnivore diet

I’m working on a new diet plan for myself but I have a problem with oxalates so I want to avoid leafy greens. I‘m trying to figure out what I lose if I cut them out of my diet (partially). I’m sure you all know that leafy greens are highly regarded as health foods, so I’d like to hear why I can be optimally healthy without eating them from you extremists?

Spinach, Kale, broccoli.

Thanks.

Also I’m lazy so grabbing a clementine > making creamed spinach

They are good a source of magnesium, just replace them with some dark chocolate and you will be fine.

Carnivore thread but just throwing this out there anyway: Rocket, various microgreens (broccoli etc.) are low or have no oxalates + you're still getting plant phytonutrients (sulforaphane etc.) that you won't get from meat alone.

Some frustrating points about that video:

1.) These plants due to their toxins are trying to deter us from eating them.
Yeah, but place yourself into a world 200 or 200 000 years ago. Then all those foods are colorful and taste good thus promote being eaten. It's a weird assertion.

2.) Bio-availablity. Yeah he jumps on iron but what's happening to the thousands of other plant components?

Common phytonutrients include carotenoids such as lutein, flavonoids, coumarins, indoles, isoflavones, lignans, organosulfures and plant sterols.
Have we done studies on the bio-availability of all those things?

I'm actually on board with a lot of the pro-carnivore arguments, but stuff like this rubs me the wrong way a bit. Especially when he taunts with 'magical nutrients' but doesn't even once mention phytonutrients or anything plant specific that might prove beneficial in a world very different from 200 or 200 000 years ago.

Cabbage (and mustard plant family) have Oligosaccharides which can cause gas similar to lactose intolerance. Some say gas is proof that it is good for gut bacteria.

Meat alone has all the nutrients including fat.
Some plant have anti-nutrients such as protease inhibitors of trypsin ,pepsin (Soybean and legumes). There are also chelates which prevent absorption of minerals such as calcium (oxalic acid in spinach) iron (Polyphenols in tea). iodine (glucosinolates in cabbage) zinc magnesium copper (Phytic acid in grains and legumes).
Cows and other ruminants ferment their food. They have in 4 pouches or stomachs which is why they belch so much and the smell will tell you what is happening if you don't know.

Damn, I must be so sickly and close to death then. 10 years vegan...no meat, no dairy, no eggs. oh no, I'm so worried about my health. Plants are clearly bad for you

The good doctor said it could be a problem for some, you clearly not one of them.

Any whole food diet should be miles better than the standard western diet.

Many vegans make the mistake of thinking red meat causes cancer. There was a huge social media debate about 2 vegans who died of pancreatic cancer at age 56. (Jobs and Swayze) Large amounts of fructose in fruit and sugar is believed to cause metabolic disease.
In 1860's when Ellen G White wrote her book, promoting the 'Garden of Eden' vegan diet, there was no refrigeration and meat packers were using Formaldehyde (now a known carcinogen ) to preserve meat. These days Formaldehyde is found in vegetable (seed) oils after they have been heated for fried food.
My nephew is vegan and has a low blood pressure issue possibly due to anemia and a B12 deficiency. A vegetarian friend of mine died at 79 of breast cancer which I think was due to eating soy fake meat which has phytoestrogen and causes men to develop breast tissue.

You need a very good dental hygiene routine as a carnivore, because eating meat and not having your dental hygiene on point leads to serious hyena breath.

I know you joking, but bad breath is actually caused by bacteria which loves sugar.

My dental health is actually 10 times better since I cut most sugars and grains out of my diet.
