Carnivore diet

Not possible to get protein for whole food?
Its possible but I prefer vegan protein because
- it has a blend of all essential proteins similar egg (reference protein) but it also has fibre and and some carbs
- fast and easy to add to breakfast oats
- less "rich" tasting" compared to whey
- cheaper
- lower carbon footprint (i'm already eating lots of day in the morning)

I'm not of the opinion that engineered foods cannot beat whole foods in terms of nutritional content. For instance I also take creatine daily as it has numerous benefits and few downsides yet it doesn't occur naturally as a pure powder

The refinement of plant proteins often removes fibre, fats, and other nutrients that naturally regulate glucose absorption. In this form, they can act more like simple carbs, especially if they are combined with fillers. Fibre helps regulate blood sugar by slowing the digestion and absorption Without it, processed protein products can lead to blood glucose spikes.

Most people on a standard western diet have no idea what "normal" truly is. Feeling the need to nap after lunch, struggling to wake up in the morning, experiencing random body pain, becoming irritable because a meal is late, constantly feeling hungry despite eating five times a day, and falling sick every three to four months are not normal.

Proof?

Not saying you're wrong. I am saying that social media isn't the best place to get dietary advice, and muscle men on instagram along with whatever supplement their grift is are obviously, clearly, objectively not impartial.

Based on my personal experience and observations of others, if you haven't encountered any of these symptoms while following a typical Western diet, consider yourself fortunate.

OK.

I definitely have which is why I am curious. I know for a fact that I'm personally not able to handle a "normal' amount of carbs (whatever that is). I have to keep to a keto-like regimen (<25g per day) otherwise I have an awful time.

Chaps where do you guys sources your meat from (steaks + yellow fat meat for biltong DIY)? Specifically in the Western Cape. Many butcheries that I tried here sell meat that just tastes off. Woolies steaks = perfect and convenient but maybe it is the whole grain fed vs grass fed and I am just use to the one.

Also side note, basically any wors will stop weight loss dead in its track for me. Besides sugar I recently learned how much stuff has soy in it, like processed meats and all your vegan stuff.

You need to find a good butchery that will look after you. A family run butchery is normally a winner.

Here in East London I started chatting to one of the guys behind the counter at a well known family butchery. Over the last 11 months we have developed a relationship and he really looks after me - he will even WhatsApp and ask how my supply is going and whether I am ready for more ribeye.

He has made my new lifestyle very easy and I've always got ribeyes in my fridge ready for the coals.

"Trust the Science(TM)"

OMFG! Tufts University spent 3 years and millions in NIH funding to claim that Honey Nut Cheerios are healthier than steak and eggs.

This isn’t science. It’s propaganda for the food industry. No wonder trust in “experts” is collapsing.

Hilarious that you think being vegan lowers fiber intake     It took my stomach a few months to get used to the sudden increase in fiber. Taking vegan protein is the same as taking whey protein...it's not a meal replacement. It's a supplement. You should still eat other wholefoods for the rest of the nutrients you need daily.

I've been vegan for over 14 years. I'm very healthy and I have a very active lifestyle. I run marathons for funzies and I've been told multiple times that I look much younger than I am.
