Carnivore diet

Hilarious that you think being vegan lowers fiber intake     It took my stomach a few months to get used to the sudden increase in fiber. Taking vegan protein is the same as taking whey protein...it's not a meal replacement. It's a supplement. You should still eat other wholefoods for the rest of the nutrients you need daily.

I've been vegan for over 14 years. I'm very healthy and I have a very active lifestyle. I run marathons for funzies and I've been told multiple times that I look much younger than I am.
I don't think being vegan lowers fiber intake.

I think Tim was referring to a vegan powder.

I don't have a problem with whole foods, even if they are plant-based. My concern is when whole foods are turned into a powder.

Like flour? lol

@TofuMofu you run marathons for “funsies”? You mean without training? How do you know that you are very healthy?

Turning whole foods into powders changes their natural structure, which can affect how your body processes them. When fibre-rich foods are ground into fine powders, the barriers that slow down digestion are removed, leading to faster absorption of sugars and starches. This can cause quick spikes in blood sugar, even if the food is technically still "whole."

Eating whole, unprocessed foods keeps the natural balance of nutrients, fibre, and structure intact, supporting steady digestion and more stable blood sugar levels. For those managing their blood glucose, sticking to minimally processed foods is usually the better option.

Are you about to start a Carnivore Diet but you have questions that worry you? Well, I have answers to the 33 most common questions about starting a Carnivore Diet.

Anyone shed light on whether this works well with IF?

I need to shed some pre-and-Christmas weight. Ok lets be honest, more likely weight from the whole year lol.

I'm wondering if i should count calories only, or calories + IF, or NO calories just IF or NO calories but IF+no-carb/low-carb.

My problem is i like snacking.. i think that's what generally gets me.

Yes, it does, as most of the food you consume is nutrient-dense. I usually only eat once a day.

The thing is, it’s very difficult to transition from a high-carb diet with three meals a day plus snacks to just one or two meals a day. The best approach is to first switch to a low-carb diet until you get used to it, and then gradually try intermittent fasting.

Proof?

Not saying you're wrong. I am saying that social media isn't the best place to get dietary advice, and muscle men on instagram along with whatever supplement their grift is are obviously, clearly, objectively not impartial.
Basically don't eat junk food but whole foods.

I have now been on the carnivore diet for 6 years. I have lost 227 lbs, I am off all medications, resolved my COPD (I had the lungs of an 88-year-old in my 30s), asthma, allergies, gout, blood pressure, pre-diabetes, and more.

I decided to make a thread about the journey and to answer some of the questions I am often asked.

Hmmm ok interesting.

I thought of doing the 16:8 fast, but limiting food to 1800 calories during the eating window. Hopefully that will result in some loss. (not necessarily changing what i eat, or should I?)

Good luck trying to fast when you’re eating carbs.

I'm not sure what you're currently eating, but if you restrict calories like that, you'll likely feel hungry all the time, which isn't sustainable.

On a carnivore diet, you don't focus on counting calories. Instead, you eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full.

Correct, Your body needs to adapt to burning fat instead of carbs, a process known as becoming fat-adapted. Since your body has plenty of stored fat, you won't feel hungry as easily because it will begin using its own fat for energy.

But still have weight loss?

When i went to a dietician many years ago she drilled low-carb out of me with a bat lol. She was like you cannot lose weight properly with low-carb and will land up with a host of problems. So i've always found it hard to understand how one would lose weight on it. But it does seem to work i know people who've tried it.
