Looking to start a side gig doing POE installs. May I prey I to what a good rate for laying down the cabling and setting up a 4 or 8 camera system be.

Also, there seems to be an accredition allowing you to issue a cctv coc after the installation, any one of you actually do so?

For a IP based system at least 2MP, I'd say R3.5k per camera for a 8 channel system total.

If you understand what I mean, so 8 x 3.5 is R28 000

That must be cameras, NVR, Harddrive, network swtich, cables, rack, labour.

So the R3.5 might be R5k if you doing higher end Hikvision

It will take me roughly a day per my calculations (could be less if I wing it with a second person to aid in cabling) to install a 8 camera system. From what I see on cctv direct an accusense 8 camera setup is about R20k plus then of course the installation hardware which on a standard house will probably cost around R2. 5k (boxes, conduit where needed and then about 250m of cable to bring it all to the nvr). One can buy dirt cheap cables but they are all cca and I'm not sure I'm willing to luck a poe installation with crappy cca. Proper cable seems to be about R4. 5k for a 500m drum. Add R2k for surveillance drive

Would you see R26 to R28k as excessive?
