Cell C 3g down in Midrand?

Down in Brooklyn Pretoria too, I've switched my carrier to Vodacom for the time being. Might just as well leave it on Vodacom I suppose

Hi Cell C rep DM, Just changed back today and it is working, now to check if it remains stable.

Good Day

Some of the work done in Pretoria and Johannesburg failed last night, the issue has been identified and our technicians are currently working to resolve the issue.

SLA for Issue to be resolved : by Midday today 15/10/2013

Thank you for your patience.

Regards
*DM*

Not stable, connects, but not a permanent stable connection.

Edge only in Woodmead for the past week. Same story at Melrose Arch.

Hi DM
Very unstable again in this area - signal fluctuates and disconnects the whole time.

So not that great yet DM, went down a few times during the day, but not for long, then around 4:30 until now just lost signal. Will let you know how it goes, weather is a bit iffy here at the moment, maybe it is affecting the signal for now.

Hi DM
Didn't think it was possible but it has actually gotten worse. Either no signal or fluctuating signal or connects with painfully slow connections, this is a tad frustrating.

Hi lived666, I still have your details. I will get a technician to investigate. *DM*

Today was a good day DM, not sure if your techies got involved or just one of those things but today has been better.

And down again.
Giving up on Cell C for now, moved over to vodacom, will check in a few days time, DM please update if anything gets done.

I was also down over the weekend. On and off......

I am staying near Midrand, Cell C towers are linked to the Midrand backbone, there are no interruptions other than constant power cuts from Eskom (recently every storm result in power cut, it is not from the lightning, but a wind) and ESKOM has no clue what to do with it. However some towers could be knocked down by a storm, Strong storms with lightning had been almost every day during last week.

Well a techie came for a site visit, thanks DM, couldn't get signal so definitely an issue here. Vodacom and MTN working just fine, so nothing to do with Eskom etc, though weather has been bad the last couple of weeks.

DM nada, nothing. No cell phone, no 3G...no cell signal, nix. Your techie called a couple of days ago to say tower should be worked on, but from something to absolutely nothing. iphone is dead, can't even make calls, so 2 x speed sticks and 2 x cell C phone contracts just dead.:(

I am in President Park area of Midrand and have had no signal for 2 days now. Called the call center and was told that they are having general problems in the southern and northern parts of Gauteng but cannot give specifics nor can they tell for how long this is going to carry on. Please can the Cell C rep give us some answers.
