Cell C cuts data prices by over 50%

Hmm, still much more expensive than the original deals.

The prepaid 2GB per month 24GB packages used to be R999 (excluding modem).

Too little too late. I get better speeds and reliability with 8ta where I am currently.....

Does this mean that the deal expires after July 31st?

If MTN don't meet or better the deals that 8ta and CellC have on offer, I'm jumping ship the day I'm due for my upgrade. I'm paying R49 for 75MB - daylight robbery in this day and age.

Too late. On MWeb already. And frankly those prices, while an improvement, don't really make me regret my decision to move.

Huh, how dumb of me. Last month I did sign a 2year contract with Vodacom. (2+2GIG) they already bit me in the arse with a double payment for the first month and I have given up hope of sorting it out. And the oob is much much worse with Vodacom WTF :( never ever I will sign a contract with them.

Why is OOB rate stated on a pre-paid deal? I thought you get cut off once your data has been used....

I must get myself a Cell C SIM & test their coverage here. Anyone willing to refresh us on how the 24Gb prepaid works? Do you get 2Gb a month or is it available to spend how you see fit?

Darn RICA, now you can't just buy a SIM, use and throw away. All SIMs are like gold these days.

Excellent start from AKC!

First the 50% bonus for Prepaid voice calls and now a 50% drop for the data package.

Though they should've dropped the prices for the other prepaid packages.

Drop the price for the 1GB and 5GB package and offer a package like 8ta's 60GB + 60GB package.

The 1GB SIM only, costs R1499 and now the 2GB SIM only, costs R1299. (Guess which SIM card people will be buying?).

Cell C's Prepaid Packages.

May 2013, Alan resigns. And Cell is bankrupt...
Stupid stupid move Cell C, signalling "change" they cannot afford to sell data this cheap.

Correct. However, if you have some money on your prepaid Sim, then obviously you are able to connect until that amount is finished too. Not everybody on prepaid bothers with packages. If I only download a few megabytes a month while checking the odd email on my cell, not buying a bundle makes sense.

You've been on this forum for a year and you've never heard of Vodacom's OOB shark and their data prices?

If you don't have Cell C or 8.ta coverage, please ignore my post...:D
