ALL data reps are jokes lol I had a VODACOM one visit my business in de deur twice in three months in 2009 but he could never tell me when i would be covered,two years later and de deur still doesnt have vodacom 3g!;)

And like the dude posted above cell c is only launching 3g/highspeed for the past six months so I guess we'll have to be realistic and give them a chance.

WHAT? wow thats crazy man you get 9mbps:wtf: i've heard most reports of between 4-6mbs on cell c and my buddy on a telkom 4Mbs line gets only 1,5mbs!9 is just cool dude you must be enjoying that,i'm really envious.:sick:

Nope it wont,but i found cell c has edge themselves in most areas where they have gsm coverage so as far as edge is concerned i say you put a cell c sim in a edge compatible phone and try it out....you probably will have cell c edge IMO.

If i'm not mistaken I belive they can even roam on vodacom edge but voda doesnt have much edge coverage anyway.

Then they must not make empty promises! They keep on promising me that I will have coverage by the end of the month and 3 months have passed. They promised to come and test the signal and I am still waiting. Seriously making empty promises is BS regardless of how many months they have been on the market. It seems as if once Cell X gets enough customers they would be the same as Vodascum and Empty N i.e. they won't care about us (customers)
 
Come on CellC please sort out your present problems before running off to roll out the next big thing, Brackenfell - Cape Gate/Morgenster is still not sorted, even though Ron said he would send out a team to invesigate! Personally I'm beginning to think Iburst is the better option... how scary is that!

Downloading 0.5Gig Apple Iphone/Ipad updates is a lot less tedious on Cell C. A minute or two. Vodacom & MTN with their vaunted speeds and high prices don't exceed 1.5mpbs in my area....

How much of the "covered" area is actually covered? I live in a covered area, bought a modem and...nothing. And CellC had the nerve to charge me a fee for returning it! Nevertheless I will use CellC if I can get some kind of assurance that it really works in my area.

CellC roam on Vodacom and it sucks donkeys balls, tried using down in the Drakensberg and eventually gave up and switched over to my mtn dongle also on EDGE, but was still faster and more stable.
 
Cell C - We have been waiting patiently on the East Rand for a touch of your magic. Unfortunately I could not wait any longer and have installed ADSL on 4MB.
But I will still need a mobile connection. Please give us a break!

I totally agree with you..this mobile internet is world class and also well priced. Having said that, it is only good when it works and mine hasnt been working at full speed for the last 14 days. i am only getting download speeds of 1.2mbs and upload speeds of 0.02mbs which isnt faster enough to hold a skype call. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing these slow speeds? I am in the Durban area just below Cowey Rd and havent moved.
 
"To boost capacity further Cell C will begin to increase speeds on its HSPA+ radio network to 42Mbps – starting with Port Elizabeth in April 2011. Reichelt explained that 42Mbps upgrades will be done in other HSPA+ covered cities during 2011."

Seeing that I am in PE and currently use Cell-C as my primary internet connection all I can say is I cant wait.

Just for those interested here is my current test result http://www.speedtest.net/result/1225535632.png

Update: Only looked at the test result after I posted normally I get 10+ Mb/s for some reason this morning it keeps on connecting at a lower rate :(
