Cell-C Dual SIM / Data SIM / Multi SIM?

After you mentioned the above I started researching it and someone mentioned that you might be able to use Cell C but u wont get the speed.
Any idea if this is true?
It will work, but only at EDGE speeds (<236kbps).

Will Cell C not work at all on my iPad? Or will I just not be able to access their fast network speeds?

I have my data sim in my iPhone and tether my iPad to it to enjoy the full speeds

EDGE is better than no internet access I guess.
Now I just need some assistance from Cell_C to figure out how to get the dual sim activated?

Did you manage to get a dual sim?

Nope, no one at Cell C is able to help me.
I've spoken to many many people from Cell C, and the most common answer I got and I guess easiest answer to give is that its not possible!!!! If MTN and Vodacom can then it is possible...
Having said that I've given up... Theres only so many calls and emails im willing to send before I say, I GIVE UP... Cell C, u win...

Do you tether it using the iphones personal hotspot feature?

2 things I really don't get:
  1. Why can CellC cap usage on a data account (ie no option of OOB rates) but Vodacom & MTN can't.
  2. Why can Vodacom & MTN provide dual SIMs, but CellC can't

It boggles the mind.

Can they? How does one arrange this?

Cell-C do offer a Dual SIM, but I think what most people here want is a Data SIM, which only Vodacom currently offer.

I have it as standard on their data packages.
I didn't know this was possible, so you can just ask Cell-C to activate this?
What difference does it make what I use the SIM for?
There's a subtle difference. Dual SIM allows two different devices to share the same number, e.g. a mobile and a car phone, and only one of them can be active on the network at a time, Data SIM allows multiple SIMs each with a different number and all active on the network at the same time, to share the same data bundle, e.g. a mobile, a tablet and a 3G modem.

None of the operators currently offer a hard cap on a contract, see here.
All of them have a hard cap on pre-paid, i.e. no airtime, no OOB.

And I still don't believe that this is hard to implement. Surely the CAN do it, they just don't WANT to.

Good day gingg & Speedster

hope every one had good weekend
i will take up the hard cap in next meeting next week.
but as far as im aware it is quite a big thing to implement, requires certain soft ware
will find out

Thanks Cell_C. Good to know that someone's listening and willing to add value to consumers.

Speed Stick Dual Sim

Hi

Anyone tried to get a dual sim for the speedstick?

Surely they could do that for data. I am told they dont for data but do for voice. It will be very useful as the speedstick is used in the laptop and one for teh IPAD/smartphone etc can help a great deal..

Cell C ??? Any plans?

I'm very keen on getting 3 sims so that I can use this data deal on my cellphones and on my laptop. Ideally I would like 3 identical cloned Sims so that I can use same voice and data on the cellphone mounted in the car, the cellphone in my pocket and the 3G laptop.

Hi All

We don't have Dual sim's for data.
will take it up and see if will introduce them. as demand is becoming very high

CellC 5gb + Airtime

Asked this in the Vodacom forum and get denied so i am wondering if its possible with CellC.

I would like to get the 5Gb data bundle special with CellC on a pay as you go (The once off payment) So i get hard capped at 5Gb each month.

Then i would like to get that sim card cloned (Dual sim or what ever its called) and have that sim card in my cell phone. I would then buy airtime each month and load it onto that number so i can use it for calls and sms's.

Is all this even possible? Basically i want the 5Gb of Data for both the 3G card and my cellphone but i also want to be able to make calls with my cellphone using a fixed amount of airtime.
