Cell C gets 3G roaming from Vodacom

Also tested last night, does not want to register on Vodacom 3G. /I have really weak Vodacom signal though so I am not 100% sure.

Soon you will be able to roam on VC on 3G in the upcoming month.
You can request some one to call you to sign up for the 2GB at R99 x 24 month.
Or can buy the sim from stores at R1399 +- .

Ha! If this is true vodacom has just shot themselves in the foot with a 2 barrel shotgun! Most people who are with them for data are with them because they have no coverage from the smaller players, this opened the door...

Hope this works as I travel all around eastern cape and in the rural areas only mtn or voda has 3g.

You are 100% correct and I'm sitting with a Cell C, but its useless at the moment due to EDGE only.

Working in Cape Town, Edgemead. If I leave my phone on auto it sticks with cell c towers, but if I search and select Vodacon it registers on network, adds a R to my signal meter and I have full signal

But you might just be roaming on EDGE. Disconnect from your Wi-Fi and post another screenie.

3G roaming on Vodacom not working for me.

The last two days I can't get Edge/GRPS at all while roaming on Vodacom...
Basically have to switch to CellC, stand at a window with signal to download mail/etc - then swop back to Vodacom so people can actually call me.

Really hoping the Garden Route gets some CellC love soon as it's going from bad to worse

Depends on which phone and firmware. On Samsung Galaxy devices with stock firmware, hold Power + Home for a few seconds. With Cyanogen firmware, hold Volume Down + Power.
