Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

Mine is still not working.

No throughput.

Been calling them everyday since last week Thursday.

So do you guys see 4G+ or not? This deal is not worth it if not at least on LTE-A to be honest.

mine is through AXXESS.. can someone please help me as AXXESS has been scratching their heads every time I call them.

IS sent it to Cell C.. Cell C just made sure i'm using the right SIM and APN and said they cant do anything.

I get DNS, but cant get any packets Delivered.
I AM getting an Internet Solutions IP address.

Device works fine with my Afrihost SIM.

Tried a different LTE device using the Cell C SIM (ZTE R218)

and i have a Cell C LTE Tower on the roof of the building I live in.

Somebody please help me before i lose my mind.

Anybody here know any network techs at Internet Solutions??

Seems their gateway(Routing) is not allowing me to send data through.

I thought I would chip in with this factoid.

If you phone Mweb support about LTE-A, there is a permanent automated message telling you that "Cell C LTE users may experience slow speeds, no or intermittent internet connections etc... IS and Cell C are working together to resolve this".
I have had all of the above for 2 weeks now.

I contacted Mweb support and asked them who is provisioning the data for the Cell C deal.

The guy was not sure, put me on hold to enquire about it, then let me know that Cell C is provisioning the data.
Thus, Mweb is just reselling Cell C data as well as using the Cell C towers.

So either:

1. Cell C is throttling the external customers. Thus non Cell C customers.
2. Cell C is oversubscribed. Thus Cell C customers are also throttled.

I would like to know which is true.
I was with Cell C for a month and a half and had no issues.
If I knew that Cell C customers were getting preferential treatment, I would most probably can Mweb and go back to Cell C even if it costs more.

Okay, an update.

My account has been working properly for the last week.
Really quick and no latency. Ping of less than 50 ms, jitter of 1, download is between 40 and 50 Mbps.
Stoked as I had given up....

While I have the master of internet looking into my problem (treebsd) I have contacted my old ISP (iSpot) and reactivated my WISP account.

All this Downtime with this Cell C LTE has cost me a lot because i had to end up using Afrihost to keep me going, buying enough for a day then another day, then another day.

Well at least all this has allowed me to test out these various ISPs.

I have learned:
AXXESS sales - they don't care about their customers
AXXESS Support - Nice guys, feel sorry for them
IS/Cell C - You cant deal with them directly because its a wholesale product
Telkom 500GB nightsurfer Data for R50 - Money well spent
Afrihost APN Data packages - Never lets me down, that's why i always keep two data SIMs from them. been using it for years as my fail-over.

Afrihost - Also my Backup, had it for years, since they first did the Double Data thing. Never had BS like with CellC. Never took more than 2 minutes on a call while they got it fixed while on the line!

I must report that my CellC is working better now, for the last week. But the way they treated me (us) is utter BS.

Most useless management I ever came across.
And the real reason why it all happened, hush hush.

My ticket lodged at the beginning of the whole mess on the 5th is still open, no formal communication to tell me the issue is fixed...

Same here, event though it's been working fine for a week, whatever positive opinion I had of Axxess has now gone to the extreme negative. Might cancel after 6 months and move everything I have with them to another ISP.

Afrihost support is also a gamble, I've often gotten these first line support who just ask the same generic questions over and over, but occasionally I've gotten someone who knew their stuff.

Just a report of my status so far: I ordered my Cell C LTE sim through WebAfrica on Monday, was delivered on Thursday (yesterady) and then activated a few hours later. So first impressions much better than the 2 times I connected with RAIN.

Speedtest.net results are similar, 32ms latency to speedtest servers (because I'm in Cape Town and it seems like all traffic is routed through IS in Gauteng) and upload/download speeds seem to be about the same as RAIN for me (http://www.speedtest.net/result/7164086524 / http://www.speedtest.net/result/7164102708). I also only see 4g on my B618-22d router, even though the marketing and pamphlets clearly state LTE-Advanced. Not sure if I'm on the best band yet or whether my router placement is best (it's currently on the best location that I previously found for RAIN-Rtth) so perhaps I'll get some better throughput when experimenting with that.

Ran the Huawei tool to open up all my frequencies, now I get carrier aggregation and see 4G+ when putting the connection under load.

I do agree, AXXESS keeps dropping the ball in terms of customer service.
I moved all my DSL clients away from AXXESS, don't know why I got stuck with them.
The only reason i took my package with them was because they were first to offer the package, i thought i was being smart and i'd get it sooner. Webafrica was easier to deal with.

Anyone here have their package through WebAfrica?
