Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

@Pretoria Peeps,

I tested last night @6, @7, @8 and @9.
The worst speed I got on CellC was 35mbps and the best 55mbps. I ran the same tests with RAIN, The best speeds i got on RAIN was 5mbps but it was averaging t 4mbps. This morning RAIN was running at +- 32mbps, CellC was 85mbps.
But thats it for me promoting this service, same thing happend with Telkom LTE Uncapped, then RAIN and we all know what happend to them. So lets keep this our secret so that everyone does not flog over to CellC and in return deteriorate our service.

Good you have ur router to connect. Router (B618) should have been delivered on Tues but courier didn't pitch. Got it on Wed. Battled with no internet and connection lights keeps on going to red. Took it to a Cellc shop. Spend more than an hour on the phone with someone and they could not get it to work. Went to Germiston and tried it there. Another hour on the phone with Cellc late afternoon and still they could not get the router to work. It does show signal on the router but fails to allow any data. Even in a phone it shows good signal strength but no data use.

Router works perfectly with Rain SIM.

Cellc must be the worst network to try and resolve problems and the on line forms of Axxess just one big joke. Their forms won't accept Germiston as a town/city. They see it as a suburb..

I have to say another B618 gives a speed of over 25mbps at all times in Centurion. Have even seen 70mbps.

Did you read the previous posts in this thread? Some members suggested creating a new profile and it worked for me and two other members I think. So try it out.

Mweb allocated 12.5gb as pro-rata for this month, the mweb control panel seems to be working at-least :)

Anyone in the Moreleta Park, Pretoria area tested this? what speeds are you getting?

Which package did you choose and which router did you receive? On their website it says you receive a free LTE-A router but when you order it shows the B315 which isn't LTE-A capable.

B315 50gb.

Correct the b315 is not LTE-A, even with B618 it does not connect on LTE-A. I am inside coverage zone.

So shouldn't that be false advertising then. Since they are advertising an LTE-A product but only providing an LTE one.

Hauwei site does shows 150m cat4 LTE speeds on b315, so that is lte-a speeds.

Through I don't think any network locally support the bands the bands for lte-a on the router.

Never seen 4g+ connection on b315, only on b618.

Got my sim and router @ 10 this morning, hoping for a speedy activation, it started going through the 3 colors two hours ago. Still unable to connect :(

The bands that it supports. It needs to bond 2xlte bands to get lte-a speeds and support I think.

Yes indeed. It needs to aggregate 2 lte bands or at least 2 blocks of spectrum in the same band to be lte advanced.

Cellc does band 1 and band 3 so I'm surprised why it's not working. Have you tried to manually force band 1 and band 3 and see if it can connect. If it does I can't see any reason why lte advanced is not working.

Test wil a prepaid sim and see if 4g+ works then we will know for sure the cellc fixed lte a deal is actually just lte.

For LTE-A you need at least a router with category 6 LTE and some form of carrier aggregation be it intra band, inter band contiguous or intra band non contiguous...
