Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

Ping here down to 25, hope it stays the same, at least the kids did not wait at the gate to 'let me know' how crap the internet is today.

Today Webafrica informed users that the problems with Cell C / IS is fixed. From speedtests it seems legit, only thing is, we were still kept in the dark as to what they were really up to.
The temporary solution that caused a lot of slow connections was used while a 'network repair that we really do not want the users to know about' was done.

Thesse are results from the same connection, the 2nd one they were screwing with us, the 1st is like it is supposed to be.

Yesterday afternoon the LTE-A 2600mhz service was not available here, going to check it this evening.

Nice router tool here: http://2share.co.za/Files/Windows.zip

If the 'support' guy tells you BS, this may help him in the right direction.

My ping is back to normal (48ms, although it was closer to 30ms before).

I'm still getting random periods of disconnection - messages and emails get delayed, images stop loading etc. Very frustrating. This is actually the third time I'm posting this - I've had to switch to mobile data to get this to work.

Speeds have been ok today, 10-15mbs (they were around 15-25mbs when I first got it), but now during peak time I'm getting a rather pathetic 2.5mbs

At least webafrica gave some feedback, Axxess haven't said anything.

worst service in my life cellc/axxess ..
will cancel, already dowgraded both the 200gb (no) Axxess accounts to 50gb and cancelling one month end, or jsut both, and going back to rsaweb adsl,, never again ,

So pings are to be better, no more time outs, my signal strength is the same but i'm get MUCH lower speeds. Around a quarter of what I used to get.
Still looks like there are congestion issues on the backend, or they are throttling the speeds as a workaround.

Sitting with a router with axxess think routed through IS over cell c, it won't stay connected to 4g, even manual network selection, which finds CellC 4g, apn set etc, it just tries to go 3g,4 bars, but says disconnected which I assume is apn issue...ive had this thing working 1 night since I got it,

Yup, me too.
Only 3G signal available, refuseses to connect.

Mine is doing exactly the same right now. However if I put my ordinary Cell C Sim 5GB contract SIM in the same b618s-22d router, then place that router in the exact same spot and it registers with 4G and signal strength 3 bars. If I place the Axxess/Cell C LTE SIM in another mobile WiFi, "no service" or 3G intermittent.

How can that be, two Cell C SIMs and the Axxess one refuses to even register on the Cell C network.

If I log a ticket with Axxess, they send me a xlsx spredsheet and then expect me to upload a pdf.

I am having the same problem. Not registering on the CellC network. This is absolutely ridiculous. 2 weeks now and issues from day 1.

Makes me wonder if my Axxess Cell C LTE SIM is provisioned correctly to register on Cell C's 4G network.

I switched all settings on network and my adapter to auto and running the CellC profile as prescribed, it is connected stable. Using 4g only did not work. I used this tool to see if it is really 4g as it is sooooo slow again: http://2share.co.za/Files/Windows.zip

yeah came home and found mine doing the same. I've rebooted it and tried changing the APN and forcing to 3G/4G but nothing works. 3G at least gets a signal. 4G is just dead. I'm posting this from my Cellphone. My other router is working fine on pre-paid cellc 4G connection.

Just noticed this on the webafrica page:

Hi All

We have identified an issue causing slow or intermittent connectivity when using Cell-C LTE.

We are working with our providers IS and Cell-C to have a fix in place tomorrow evening (13th March).

We appreciate your patience during this maintenance period.
