Hi

I'm using the Cell 200GB LTE package and the LTE Speeds are incredibly slow even though I have a LTE signal.

Even switching the router to 3G does not help.

Speed was great about a month ago and then just suddenly dropped.

Can anyone from Cell C please assist?

I also recently bought the 200 Prepaid Giga bundle and is experiencing slow speeds on LTE (4G signal). Used to be 15-20 Mbps on the 100 Prepaid, now averages on 3.5Mbps... Huawei B593 router.

Please (also) help me Cell C!

Hi Makatinie

Please PM us your residential address and contact details.

We will look into it.

Cell C LTE connection in Muizenberg (Costa Da Gama) is a waste of time. I recently got an LTE deal from WebAfrica (https://www.webafrica.co.za/aff.php?aff=80240) but it has been nothing but frustration as the speed is way too slow, I at times struggle to do basic browsing of web-pages :(

Hi simmakombe

Please PM us the number in question/ID number and a number that we can reach you on.

I live in Boston Bellville.
About 18 months ago I got a CellC contract with a Huawei 315 router.
My download and upload speeds ranged around 10Mbps
I then put up an external antenna
My speeds INCREASED to -
download around 22Mbps - 25Mbps
upload around 18Mbps.

About 6 - 90 months ago both speeds dropped to below 5Mbps
My speeds now are -
Download from 0.24 - 4 Mbps
Upload around 16Mbps

6 Months ago I asked the technical repair unit at Tygervalley Mall and the answer was that it is a temporary problem due to the laying of fibre cables in the area! (only Mweb has put down fibre in my area).

I run a Voip phone through this and when the speed goes down I get breaking up if I am also on a website on the internet.

Are their other CellC internet users in the northern suburbs of Cape Town with the same problem?

Dear CellC - what have you done to cause this IMMENSE drop in speeds?
I pay you about R650 a month and you give me a crocked up service

They have gone silent on this issue...

Tonight
Ping - 325 yes 325 !!!!
download - .66Mbps (ie 66Kbps)
Upload - 4.5 Mbps

They kept telling me that they were fixing my speed problem but after a year I simply moved to Telkom.
How do you leave?
You have To PAY them to end your contract even if your contract period has ended.
Or you stop using CellC but have to continue paying monthly.

I was on prepaid with Cell C. I hope never to sign a contract with them.

The techie arrived today. I gave him speeds over last 18 hours - lowest Speedtest could not test just said"latency test error". Next lowest was .24 at 17h00. Highest was 6.5 yesterday at 14h30.
My antenna is in line of site to tower on Vredelust NGK about 1.5kms away.
Techie is going back to their office to see if they can fix it.

I just received my Cell-C LTE router today, getting speeds of about 5mbps on average. Currently using the B-315. This can't be normal right? I assumed that perhaps if I got an LTE-A enabled router the speeds would increase drastically, but I'm starting to doubt whether or not that would be a wise investment if the Cell-C speeds are crap. I get over 30mbs on my phone with MTN, so it's not the area I'm in.

What APN you using ?

Try this one
lte.broadband.is

Thanks :) It's still really slow though, not even hitting 5mbps right now. Afrihost support couldn't really help either, so at a bit of a roadblock right now...
