I threw my toys, and after that Cell C managed to fix something on their system.

I went back to the shop and this time they could call up the sim number and RICA it.

I guess that the same would apply to the other LTE bundles in that store (Melrose Arch).

I caved in and ordered a Dovado Tiny, seems to be the only router on the market that supports all the LTE modems, including the E392, E398 and E3276. Will use it in series with my Asus RT-N66U.
 
Got the Huawei E3276 speed stick yesterday and it doesn't work in my Netgear DGN2200 3g router. Does any one know where I can buy another 3g router in Durban tomorrow (Will be returning my DGN2200 3g router, bought it yesterday) Will head to mitabyte as I know they had some Huawei 3g routers that hopefully might work.
 
BEWARE of buying this "LTE introductory offer" people!!!

After not having any LTE signal for a few months(i've been away abit too) I opened a support ticket over it.
I could manually search & see LTE but wasn't able to register on it + i was getting zero signal on auto register.
Results of the support ticket are that sorry there are only a limited number of people(200) provisioned for use of the LTE & unfortunately your not 1.
I bought this the weekend the deal was released so there doesn't seem to be any 1st come/1st served standing to it either.

This is response for the trouble number sd175267 :LTE is still only available on trial to certain people and its not commercial yet, therefore we cannot activate it for customers.

How come its says nothing of this on your LTE introductory offer page Cell C ?

Sounds like there was some misunderstanding. If you bought the LTE introductory offer you should be able to register on the LTE network. You can't register with a normal SIM and they seem to be unable to provision them for LTE either.

Hi Ginggs,I used to be able to use it on LTE but somehow my sims been kicked off being allowed access to use it now.Haven't done any sim swapping with this modems sim so it's not that..... have got the JHB offices ph no so i'll take it up with them,hit a dead end with support just saying sorry but there's nothing they can do - their trying to tell me it is just a certain number people that are allowed access to it now & tough cookies.
It was definitely the LTE launch offer i bought - E3276 with 100GB

The LTE speeds are ultimately limited to the international tier so it's not much faster than HSDA anyway (at least as far as I have seen from published tests on mybb and elsewhere). just wait itl come

I have my own LTE capable device, can I access the Cell C LTE network?

Not at this time.
We currently only offer DATA on our LTE network and are only offering LTE access via our launch offer

They are making their problem your problem, contact the REP on this site, he/she can probably get this sorted out for you ASAP.
 
I have two LTE launch offers, both expiring soon.

I haven't been able to get even close to the 100GB capacities, though, the Cell C throughput was just really poor.

So it was a waste of money, even with the modems.

So is this launch offer still available? And is it available to the general public, who are supposedly in LTA coverage areas or will it only be available in limited numbers?

Hi,
I have purchased 3 devices since February and I've been receiving excellent reception and achieving speeds of up to 42mbps down and 8 mbps up. (I'm pretty sure the tower that's about 300 meters from by building is a CellC tower)

But about 3 weeks ago after some heavy rains I can no longer register on the LTE network. On HSPA (RSSI is -85 dBm) I only get 2.6 mbps down (in the past I could get about 8-9mbps on HSPA). I'm not sure if it's the tower or if my sim card has been de-activated. (I tested all 3).

I cannot get any help from technical support as they are keep saying that LTE is not available. I need to purchase another bundle but I need to have this network issue sorted out. How can this be resolved?

PM sent - Your my last call as even chasing escalations in Joberg i could get no further - they're saying its not commercially available even tho i have detailed it was the LTE Launch offer that was purchased & i previously could use it on LTE...what Reecevdm posted is also sounding suspect that they too have had LTE access "switched off"

Reecevdm - Over in Tools/Options/Network - select "LTE only" then go to the registration tab & manually search...if it can see Cell C (LTE) but won't register on it they done the same to you.

That is exactly what is happening to me. I can see the Cell C (LTE) but it won't allow me to register.

This is really disappointing because I was happy with the LTE service from Cell C and without any indication of the current issue or their future plans, I will have to use an alternative provider that offers a similar price plan (but 10Gigs per month) without a device (which I don't need)

I hope they can shed some light on this matter.
