In order for us to assist with the SIM swap, The SIM card needs to be registered with your details due to high fraudulent activities connected to SIM swaps.

I don't get you my new sim card or my lost sim card?

If my lost sim card wasn't registered by my details will I be able...to do a sim swap yes or no and one more thing I didn't contact anyone or recharged so there is no usage to clarify it's me but I will visit a cell c shop with an ID proof of address will I be able to do the sim swap

If you didn't register the simcard with your details you cannot do a sim swop with your details now to get it back
 
If the first simcard was not registered with your details, it does not belong to you and you cannot do a simswop to get it back.

Did you understand now?

Your new simcard will be registered with your current details and cannot be connected to your lost sim card.

Hi Sandile


Unfortunately, you will need to purchase a new SIM card and get a new number.
A SIM swap can not be processed if the lost SIM card was not registered with your details.

I have a question. I bought a cell c prepaid sim in 2011 and registered it in my own name. last year due to high data prices I changed that sim and used it to receive calls instead of using it for everything, in June this year I lost this sim and I've been trying to do a sim swop with no success. my question is what are other ways to do a sim swop that do not require me to have 3 numbers that I called because I don't have that information?

If you don't use a SIM card or recharge it with airtime or data every few months, there `is a good chance your mobile network will disconnect you and recycle your number.

I was robbed of my phone recently and tried to do a sim swop twice via the customer care call centre but was unsuccessful both times due to not passing the security questions. They do not tell me which security questions i failed. I recharge my airtime alot and cant remember the exact amount i recharged with and whether it was this Thursday or the Wednesday. I also call a lot and my most recent calls was to my wife, my sister and my mothers numbers and then to a call centre starting with an 087 number. It is difficult to remember the exact call information as one doesnt expect ones cellphone to be stolen and memeorize what numbers u called last exactly. I told the consultant that the last recharge i did was an emergency airtime recharge of R10 besides the R50 I purchased vis cellphone banking from my bank account. Can you please advise how i can do a sim swap because that number is registered on my cellphone banking and i cannot do any banking as the OTP gets sent to this number. i opened a robbery case at the police station and have the case number as well. What can i do please.

Hi Jeroam27

You can go to your nearest Cell C store in order to have the security check processed there, however you will be asked to complete a security check.

hello,
my sim was damaged and therefore I did a SIM Swap via customer care,
they mentioned it will be done in 2 to 4 hours. its been more than 15 hours but the SIM is still not active

i did send. no response since morning.
customer care too is not of any help.
 
CELL C Staff is useless.
at the customer centre they dont guide you properly and then later stage they say you have to buy another SIM to do a SIM swap as i inserted the SIM to the phone before 24 hours.
this is so frustrating.
 
no training not proper way of assisting customer.
no wonder why Cell is going on a loss
 
Witbank Cell c staff (highveld mall) they are the most stupid people i have ever seen in my life.
extremely rude and lazy. (may be coz i was just buying a 1.5 rands worth SIM and not their crap phones and contracts)

I also have the same problem I already bought 2 simcards and they said I should wait for 4 hours and when I insert the simcard after those hours it says register failed please help me

I lost my cell c contract sim card , , to do sim swap , can I buy the cell c sim card and use it to call cell c for sim swap ?
