Is there throttling going on? As soon as Lars say it will be sorted then that individual go to full speed but the rest still suffers. I am getting good signal in Hatfield but pis poor performance. Battling to get 1mbps lately.

Can't do any speedtests at the moment - netbook's screen is broken.

Current laptop's USB ports are too weak to support the dongle.

Going to build a PC up to act as my firewall for CellC... then I'll be able to provide speedtest results.

Hello All.

Some of you might remember the issues i had with my black speedstick and the overall performance of the Cellc network.

Herewith some feedback: Cellc replaced my modem, but this did not resolve the issues of disconnecting and overheating!

However, i purchased a Galaxy Tab and inserted the Cellc sim into it. What a diff!!!!
No problems what so ever and the performance is great!!! No disconnections!!!

Someting to note: i could not use my datasim in Skukuza, Kruger Park. I do not know why, but it would not work. The Galaxy Tab shows Cellc as its network, but it does not allow data transfer. I think this is because Cellc uses the Vodacom network for roaming in the Kruger Park.

there are a few tricks i.e you need to load the stick onto the modem and play with the .bin fiels from tp links website to find the best one.
it overwrites the firmware of the usb device.
But overall i have been very impressed.

Seriously im dusting off the old 56k modem.. I've logged complaint after complaint. Nothings improved. Losing my mind here.

Good to hear, I did the same thing and it helped me too. However I'm now stuck on Edge when using the tab and I can't connect to a network at all using the E1820 dongle, seems something went horribly wrong when I moved :/ (to Fourways, right in the middle of a full-coverage zone)
