Cell C Speed Test Results

Due to circumstances, I have to move my router. Just placed it in a temporary (and one that the wife will not approve of) location (sort-of in the kitchen), but this is looking really good!

Unfortunately, not consistent though, but on average I get about 3-4Mbps

Just tried My BB's own Speed Test. Although it invites you to share your result, there is not link to copy as on the Ookla site. So here is old fashioned cut & paste:

Yes, tried all usb ports. They are all usb 2.0 though.
I don't have an antenna. I have tried using a usb extension to hang the speed stick out the window. Made no difference.
I run Win7.

The Cell C rep has contacted me. Hopefully they will sort it out.

There must be something wrong with your hardware and/or signal. What is your dBm and signal strength? I'm in Pretoria as well and this is my result.

Late night I get about 12000 kbps and in peak times about 3000-6000.

I have tried using that mdma program to check my speed but it seems the ZTE MF668 speedstick is not supported. The software doesnt detect it. All I know is that the cellc program shows 6 bars of signal. I have tried it in the hatfield area aswel and its also slow.
I just got this:

Its after midnight though. Seems faster tonight than its ever been

This is still a good day for me http://www.speedtest.net/result/1326058389.png...other than getting these poor speeds i cant connect, no throughput, cant even open cell C website and when i sometimes can connect it is slower than dial up. Been waiting for a resolution for over 2 months now, its been getting worse and worse since the first week i had the deal.

I work near Hatfield, and the D/L speed is very bad in that area. Can't even get 2mbps in my office. Problem with the ZTE MF 668 from CellC is the preloaded software don't have the option to see your dBm under diagnostics like the previous version.

You should maybe consider this Coupler for 3G Modems http://www.poynting.co.za/directorylisting/displaycommercial.aspx?#prodlist=3 and this Hi-gain antenna http://www.poynting.co.za/directorylisting/displaycommercial.aspx?#prodlist=3. It'll cost you about R1500, but you probably won't have a problem with your speed again.

Poynting is in the Mall@Reds in Centurion. Just a thought.
