Get home router Huawei B315s R999 from Edgars/CNA/Jet in the Telkom section. It supports all SA LTE networks
Thanks, seems interesting.
Think I might also get a cheap prepaid sim and use my old phone as the LTE modem and test signal...

Is there LTE in the CBD area? (Cape Town)
Hi Johnatan
We need your exact location, we'd like to confirm with Network for LTE coverage.

What is your speed like?I get 1 bar connection on the router in LTE
On 3G I get full bars...
What is your speed like?
Sometimes it was better to be on 3G/HSPA with poor signal than 2G with full signal.
The same might apply to LTE.
I'm also interested in ping though. Might try it out on the weekend to see if the ping is better on LTE at slower speeds compared to 3G at higher speeds... So much effort though...
Or could just go Telkom and and pray for better signal. I'd be really happy with >20Mb!
Pinging on LTE is stable while I have never seen stable pings on 3G. No matter which network, sometimes it jumps by a factor 10x-20x.I can't remember exactly but I think ping was only marginally better on LTE... (something like 18 vs 20ms to a JHB speedtest.net server).
I was thinking of getting the LTE modem from Cell C with 100gb of data, so I decided to test their LTE Sim card first and got these speeds

Is it just me or their network is this poor?
I doubt it is 3G. Cell C do not use DC-HSPA+ (42Mbps), your download speed cannot come from HSPA+ (21Mbps) connection. I think you are on LTE, ping time suggests the same.
