CellC LTE down since 10am today

you were connected to non Cell C towers and Cell C was being billed roaming rates, they have since stopped allowing connection on the roaming towers and these towers were never included in coverage, this means that unfortunately you fall outside of coverage and we can not assist with getting you connected again.

Check attached.

So we will have to see what axxess is gonna do...

Sim is either going to be cancelled and I have to look elsewhere... Or ??? Fork out 3.5k and get internet from the wireless provider in the area.

Pointless going to telkom over in phalaborwa

Dear Axxess Client

You contacted us with regards to your Cell C service that stopped working. Cell C informed Internet Solutions that their roaming agreement with MTN will not apply to the Cell C services sold via Internet Solutions with immediate effect as of Friday last week, since this took place we have been receiving reports of clients experiencing no connectivity in outlying areas of the Cell C Fixed LTE network. We have tirelessly been attempting to address this with Internet Solutions since Friday morning without success.

We have taken a decision to offer our affected clients a credit and immediate cancellation as we do not foresee that a resolution is forthcoming at this time.

We sincerely apologise for the disruption and inconvenience this has caused. Please reply to this email with your affected username/s in order for us to process your credit and set your cancellation. Should you wish to return hardware purchased with your service please provide us with the collection address and preferred collection date, we will arrange for the collection of the device at no cost to you. Once received and checked on our end we will credit your account.

Thank You

Kind Regards,

I didn't receive this yet. Also don't have a device with them. Just a sim.

To existing and new clients of Cell C LTE A/Fixed watch out as Cell C / Internet Solutions network coverage collapsed/restricted/ due to MTN cellphone tower roaming contract terminated/cancelled between Cell C and MTN on the 14th December 2018 causing/affecting Cell C LTE A/Fixed coverage to decline more then 70%, meaning that existing clients of Cell C in that declined affected areas to lost network coverage ( other words - no LTE Internet coverage/access) and Cell C still aspect the clients to pay with no LTE Internet access. Most re-sellers being to be affected is Internet Solutions, AfriHost, @Lantic, Axxess...... and the list goes on. Only response what get from my upstream provider is ............. nothing.

Thank you. What is the reason for the problems?

It has come to our attention that some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that resell Cell C’s fixed-LTE service to their customers have sold this service outside of the fixed-LTE coverage areas.

Our contracts with these partners’ stipulate that ISPs are obliged to consult the Cell C fixed-LTE coverage map to ensure customers are within the coverage areas before selling this service to customers.

So without warning to the ISP or the end users, someone decided to disconnect thousands of users.

Claim back your December subscription and also don't forget to also claim back your sim connection fee.

MTN roaming was only available while we were rolling out and testing roaming. ISPs were supposed to check the Cell C website for accurate fixed-LTE coverage areas as our contracts with our ISP partners clearly state that this service excludes Cell C’s national roaming with MTN.

You as a customer should have never purchased the deal based on MTN roaming.

Yes, we do encourage you to approach your ISP if you fall outside of the Cell C Fixed LTE zones for a refund.

I did not purchase the deal based on the MTN roaming map. I purchased the deal after Axxess advertised their "MASSIVE CELLC LTE UPGRADE" map. And suddenly included my area.
It was AXXESS who misguided clients, masking the MTN roaming map with that of CellC LTE coverage.

Tell your bosses they suck because everyone needs internet. We don't need politics and paperwork. We need cheap reliable internet

It would be unsustainable for Cell C to offer the incredible fixed-LTE rates if national roaming were included as there is an additional cost to Cell C when customers roam.

I posted this ages ago that it seemed fishy - Pity a news article was not done to expose the mistake.
