I had a RBM HD phone that as stolen from me a month ago.
This sucked bad because I had bought it another GPS app and a 32gig SD card.
I have Cell's insurance on my phone.
As I understand it :
1. Get your phone blacklisted at your provider (CellC)
2. Receive an ITC number of your blacklisted phone.
3. Go to police and report your phone stolen using your ITC number.
4. Receive a case number from the police indicating that you your reported it stolen.
5 Return to your provider with said information and start insurance application. (ITC and case number)
I'm stuck at number 2.
CellC seems to think it funny to simply ignore this and not blacklist the phone.
I have faxed them 7 times during May, I have been to their Branch at Centurion at crap load of times, I have reference numbers that are starting to fill my notepad.
And yet, nothing, no ITC number, and worst all is, they never know whats going on.
I always have to repeated explain to them whats happening, ask them politely and VERY patiently to blacklist (f****** pretty please).
I phone customer care, nothing, they cant seem to get things done either.
They keep telling me they will contact me with the information I need for the police.
So I have decided that (unfortuantely) to cancel my contract with them, as they seem to be unable to render a simple service as blacklist.
It may suck to pay so much more at the other provider, but trust me, its a lot better! I have a roommate that uses MTN,. And yeah, they are expensive compared to an RBM HD, but at least it only takes them 5 days to COMPLETE THE ENTIRE PROCESS from 1 - 5.
So take it from me, I can supply you with a reference number to prove this true, and stay away from cellc, its just not worth it. I don't care about the added costs of pay ins on the phone,
but I do care not having a phone, especially if I have insurance on it that I pay for!
