I see wiki reckons they're only a maximum of about 5cm in length. That I can handle. The full-screen macro shot made me think they're roughly the size of a Dachshund.

I can't even imagine waking up with that on my bed... (rainspiders are chilled, unless they jump at me! Had one mean guy that would dangle it's two front legs at me, and when I tried to move it into a big icecream tub, he jumped at me . Try looking cool in front the girlfriend by offering to take the "big scary spider" outside, only to have you screaming and jumping around like a baby ).

They usually friendly little guys, but a few are Lebanese I think. Either way, when a rain spider starts chasing you, it scars the little shyte out of even the most brave and stupid

Those big ones can do some damage if it bites you. I know every indian in Durban is afraid of those centipedes...lol. Not good if it gets into your ear while sleeping at night or if you wake up and find it on your pillow.
