Hi Rajin, did you get it sorted? I also have the same problem, my PC board, battery, etc. were all replaced 6 months ago after being struck by lightning, so I don’t think it’s the battery... ‍♂️

Put a gate motor battery not alarm battery
Hi Lonzo, was it just your battery in the end? My battery was replaced 6 months ago by an installer after being hit by lightning, so I can’t imagine it’s the battery... unless they gave me a substandard battery.

I encountered the same problem. I see no solution or reasoning has been posted so I'll update if I manage to solve it.

The solution is simple. Take the motor to Centurion Motors so that they can give it a proper service. The problem is hardly ever with the sensors themselves but with oil seals, batteries and battery chargers.

Their prices are reasonable and they do a thorough job.

Has anyone managed to resolve this problem? Mine is doing the same. Not even 2 years old and the battery volts show 13,5V and charger 14,3V. But as soon as I press the remote or the button on the unit itself everything goes dead and restarts again.

Took mine to centurion. The brushes on the motor are gone. They quoted me R5k so I'm buying a new motor instead. Take yours in to have it checked

Nope, I am in the east rand, went to the boksburg centurion

Apparently, you have to do a yearly service on the motor to prolong its life. I use my gate quite often as well. Lasted just over two years.

My motor hasn't been serviced in like 5 years...

Do you only need the physical motor?
Yep you do . They will take it in, assess it and quote you. If you decline the quote, it will cost you R100 to reassemble your motor or you pay nothing and assemble it at home by yourself.

I mean do you only need the physical motor aspect of what we call the gate motor, or by gate motor do you think of it as the entire thing, I ask because if it is the physical motor you need I might be able to organise something at a good deal for you

Oh, I did not follow that. I actually need a complete unit because they sheared the bolts due to rust so I gave up on it. SO I am looking at the D5 smart.
