Charged for data while via wifi !!

I connect to my home wifi and deactivate data network BUT am still being charged for data ?! I downloaded an app from GooglePlay BUT cannot understand why my data bundle was used.

I have a Galaxy SII and don't use it for email, streaming, surfing, FB, Twitter or Youtube ! I have also disabled automatic updating, locations, and background data (except when downloading an app).


PS I have requested help in the vodacom forum (am still waiting for last 2 months for a reply) and have logged numerous calls and escalations but have received no resolution.

Can anyone please help ?

I have got a phone call from a user who complained about the very same thing on his S2.
He did some reading and discovered it is a known problem with the S2, it has to do with the Samsungs modded version of Android.
He ended up rooting it and it stopped.

Ahh crap, Why does Vodacom not then just tell its customers this, because I'm sure they are aware of it. Instead they just deny any knowledge or accountability.
