I Normally download mp3s and small video clips here and there and over the last week i had about r200 airtime. I am on a Topup100 package and i have a Blackberry 9300.

I checked my balance Friday i had R0.00.

I called MTN and they said i have been charged for Internet services. Correct me if i am wrong but don't i pay R60 for internet on BIS?

Whats the point of even getting the BIS for my 9300 if they are going to be charging me for every MB i download?

The Guy on the phone wasn't exactly that helpful either.

It's probably the video that got you. I'm not on MTN but I've seen streaming video quickly deplete my airtime balance.

I think anything you 'stream' you pay for... i know you'll be charged for youtube for example...

well this is what i find on the site:

BlackBerry and MTN offer Unlimited PIM and Email with no additional data usage costs through the BlackBerry APN, This Excludes Video or Audio Streaming or International Roaming Charges.
All this is for a fixed monthly fee on BlackBerry BIS or BES.

Its just odd because i have been on this contract since Feb and I have never been charged this way. Surely a message should pop up saying "additional charges may occur", which for a fact i can say did not appear.

I have no airtime now and i am still able to download. My one friend is on the same contract and he is never charged for his downloads.

I am very disappointed in the service i am getting.

rofl surely people should realise there are limitations on a service for R60, and yes i agree these limitations should be explained clearly and properly. However for the average person who uses the service for some browsing, bbm, email etc it works well.
