CHEAP ADSL FROM TELKOM

I have it on good authority that DStv is looking to launch and HD-PVR (trip tuner), 512 Uncapped ADSL for under R600 a month, which will include the Premium subscription. Equipment (PVR & DSL Modem) will cost R2000, not sure of that will include installation.

Sometime end Feb2011, apparently.
 
I have just had to go through moving my ADSL line for the 3rd time with Telkom. IMHO if you can do anything to keep away from the antiquated behemoth that is Telkom then do so. Unfortunately I have to pay the R200 or so a month to rent my phone line from them but as soon as the ADSL was up and running I leapt on WebAfrica and had them take over the ADSL line.

I know this is a bit of a rant and slightly off topic but my advice is, even if it costs a bit more (which is nigh on impossible with Telkom as the competitor) then stay away from Telkom.

3 days, 11 phone calls, 60 seconds to fix = Telkom.

Get this guys,

I just signed up a 24 Month contract with Telkom for a 384K line for R369.00 p/m.

Free Installation, Free Modem + a free phone line and 1gig a month browsing.
Now i can go to Afrihost.com and get a topup account for R29.00 a month for R29.00 a gig, unshaped.

Wait two days............. And call them again and say, you havent signed anything yet and nothing has been istsalled yet and can you please change to a month to month contract.
They happely helped me to change it over to a m/m and i only have to supply my own modem.

Now lets see what you okes have to say about that,

Ok i will also add, Thanks to everyone that crapped on me, so that i can change this.



And is only valid untill 15 Jan 2011
