Get this guys,

I just signed up a 24 Month contract with Telkom for a 384K line for R369.00 p/m.

Free Installation, Free Modem + a free phone line and 1gig a month browsing.
Now i can go to Afrihost.com and get a topup account for R29.00 a month for R29.00 a gig, unshaped.

Wait two days............. And call them again and say, you havent signed anything yet and nothing has been istsalled yet and can you please change to a month to month contract.
They happely helped me to change it over to a m/m and i only have to supply my own modem.

Now lets see what you okes have to say about that,

Ok i will also add, Thanks to everyone that crapped on me, so that i can change this.

And is only valid untill 15 Jan 2011

Have fun...

No problem, I have the same contract as you and I also have afrihost data that I use. I set the afrihost account in the router and the telkom as the dailup option.

*cough*

cellc R2999 deal = R300 per month, 5Gb cap each month for 12 months (prepaid) or R300 per month (contract)

if you've got good reception, you can hit speeds in excess of 4096k

I pay R408 for 5 Gigs + 20Gigi local and free 60min calls over weekends, from TelSkom. No contract and I got a free router as well back in the day. Not a good deal bra.

Talk about an utter fail...

You're supposed to come here and read the forums first, maybe even ask advice, not to come here and brag after being locked into the worst contract possible for two years.

This all includes line rental as well, Have i missed something here.....

I dont know if any of you tried to do this whole Lawrence’s Guide to Ordering Home DSL, the loop holes dont work anymore... You are not able to cancel a phone line after you have inquired it. So the loop holes wont work here for me, and besides guys, my GF like to call up all her friends and folks at nite, and with this deal calls to 011 numbers are free in the evenings. Not that everyones got 011 numbers these days anymore, but im just saying..

Ok seeing that everyone here knows so much about Telkom, Give me a nice package and price unshaped for nothing more than R500 a month.

If you see at the end of the Lawrence Guide, it says "So, what have we learned? Well for one, I learned that while Telkom still sucks, they " from http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/83000-Lawrence’s-Guide-to-Ordering-Home-DSL

lcbxx has said earlier that "My R408p/m includes everything, analogue line, 384k adsl, the 5/20GB data and free 60min weekend calls."

Now add your R29 top up account to this and there you go.

Yes, but are you unshaped... I dont have time sit on the net during the evenings and during the day it is just absolutely useless to work on the net, i work from home and need a stable connection..
