Checkers testing subscription service — With unlimited free Sixty60 deliveries and bonus discounts

South African grocery retailer Shoprite Checkers has started testing a paid subscription service that provides additional Xtra Savings and Sixty60 benefits.

The membership plan — dubbed Xtra Savings Plus — is currently available to certain Sixty60 users as part of a beta to test its viability and functionality.

I think ASAP randomly free delivery vouchers is the best for customers (free delivery, R50 off which is more like free delivery plus R15 off, R60 off, R70/75 off the R100 off on R450 order)

Indeed. I checked my receipt at Checkers yesterday and it shows that I've saved over R8,500 through using the Xtra savings card so far.

Was presented to me last week sometime and at R99 per month its an absolute no brainer really... I do 5 or 6 Sixty60 orders a month so will end up saving some money.

Seeing that the ordering is set up to elicit tips for drivers doing their job, if you add in the tips, is it still worthwhile? I still prefer to go buy my own stuff as I can choose what packet of veggies or which apple I want to buy.

I have been using it for the past month already, its really a no brainer if you do a big trolley of R2000+ once a month to subsidize the subscription. We keep our shopping list on the app and once it reach R350, I hit order button.
