Checkers testing Xtra Savings Plus subscription service

Has anyone successfully got the 10% in store ?

yes - it does. and you can enable it on the app. and if you dont want to use it, you can quickly disable it too.

And no - it doesn't count for easypay.

10% comes off at the till.

Also nice win. Had a delivery where they refunded he R35 delivery fee, that i didnt pay, so i scored. i did pay a tip too. BUt the refund was related to them being out of stock on my primary items.
Then had to use the credit within a couple of days...

Do you need to activate every single time?

I’m sure I activated … shipped a few weeks later … and nothing was applied. I activated again … went shopping … nothing was applied … and when I checked, it was deactivated.

I’ve activated a 3rd time - but wondering if it deactivates itself or needs to be activated on the day of the shop?

Honestly. I think it stayed as disabled. And then I enabled it on the way to the shops. I would have assumed it will stay in that state. But not sure. But based on what your experienced. I guess we need to be extra diligent and double check everything. Just like I scan the till slip as I exit a grocery store to see if I scored or how badly I got screwed over.

My new one is available I see. It looks like it’s based on anniversary date of subscription. That’s cool. Enabled it. See if I remember to reply to you tomorrow after I shop.

One more thing. The new month, they scrub all your savings. Would be nice to see the history by month. But I guess that’s for them and their data peeps.

You need to activate it every time. I am not sure how many hours before shopping...I activate mine at home before I go shopping, so there is a bit of leeway in time.

And the flip side to this. I got to the till this morning. Was still activated from yesterday. And I deactivated it as the total was 977. This was literally seconds before I paid. Nice to see their stuffs is real time.

Has anyone tried to use the 10% discount option when buying a Checkers voucher? Just wondering if that won't be a workaround to then pay bills with the voucher bought.

Or use the voucher for smaller shops....

That would be a good one, probably best to buy something with the purchase.
That would really make it worth it because I almost never spend more than R1000 in one shop.
If anyone tries please update the thread.

You need to activate in the app before shopping. Mine seems to reset every month after the Xtra Savings Plus payment has come off my account.

I make sure to only activate it before I go do lots of shopping. Saved R200 last month. I don't think it applies to items already on special.
 
Hmmm. And does it work at the checkers liquor? Or pet science. Both of those is easy to get close to the R2k mark.

Secondly, awesome service on their side ... I asked them about the 10% at the same time as I asked here ... and received this reply a few hours later

The 10% discount can only be redeemed at Checkers, Checkers Hyper, Checkers Little Me, Checkers Outdoor, Checkers Pool, and Liqourshop stores once per month. The discount benefit cannot be redeemed at a Checkers Money Market. You must activate this benefit on the Sixty60 app to use it in-store. Upon activation, the benefit will be loaded to your profile for use on your next in-store basket. This discount is limited to a maximum of R200 on your next shop. Should you spend more than R2000, you will only receive the maximum discount of R200. If you spend less than R2000, you will receive a 10% saving on your basket. To use this benefit a minimum, spend of R100 is required. Please note that the 10% in-store discount cannot be used in conjunction with selected marketing promotions like Black Friday or Xtra Xtra weekends. We reserve the right to change the conditions of Xtra Savings Plus benefits. Please ensure you review our T&Cs on a regular basis.

The 10% discount has to be activated whenever you try to use it in-store.
