Checkers testing Xtra Savings Plus subscription service

Ok....tried the buying a gift voucher option today. Sad to say discount does not apply to the voucher Bought R500 worth of groceries and a R1200 gift voucher. Only received the 10% discount on the groceries.
Oh well.

Would not have realised it was deactivated if it wasn't for this thread, I've been avoiding going in :X3: because I've not been in the mood to do a big shopping spree and I didnt want to waste my discount on buying only R300 worth of stuff!

That sucks, it would have been a nice way to use the discount.
 
Activated in store this morning. Bought loads of crap I need for pool and braaing. Which might I add, was all on some kind of mark down. Got to +/-R2250. Thought cr@p, spent a bit high. With all the discounts and 10%. Paid +/-R1750.
Felt good.

Yea I managed to get mine in August - but didn't do a large spend as I wNTED TO MAKE SURE IT WORKED .

Now that I know, September will be my large shop
 
Probably best to use this thing before pay day else the shops get too busy, I considered using it on the 31st on a R1k shopping spree but the queues were way too long so I thought it wasn't worth it. I would need to take ear phones so I can listen to podcasts whilst standing in the queue.

Also it doesn't seem to work at UNIQ and its doubtful that we can earn eBucks there too.

I got into the habit of Sunday morning at the supermarket/mall. Vitality stuff at Pnp, general stuff at checkers followed by the select few at WW, and then clicks/Dis-Chem. In by 8:30 and out by 9:30/10. Mall has always been quiet. I can’t stand the mad rush or pay day weekend crowds… been doing this since the early Covid days with masks and gloves. Only diff now is none of that crap or the post-shop shower
