I got gifted a similar set. The 1st 2 are delicious, the rest are meh...'scuse the image, ANC blackouts and all that

I have since stopped listening/watching reviewers of hot sauces precisely because of that.

I would buy some expensive sauce and find it to be mild yet some idiot on YouTube or TV said it was mindblowingly hot.

It really began with the British, resident in India during the 18th and 19th centuries. Curry flavours are curry flavours, not that hot jalapeno hot stuff you white people have with your tequlila. Indian and Mexican cuisine is totally different. I do not expect you white folk to understand this. Fine

That's most likely just a you thing, I know many injuns that like hot sauce. My wife is one of them - especially when she has to spice up bland colonizer food.

Further to that have you seen how many black people queue up for chicken licken hot sauce and spicey chicken, I'd say that they outstrip white people in terms of spice requirement.

Yeah, I was literally being so cautious with the last dab and when I'm like... wtf is this ****... pepper x, what a ****ing joke.
 
chicken licken hot sauce is great, wish they would sell it at checkers/spar or in bigger bottles as got none near me. Closest south african alternative to franks buffalo sauce in the uk

Yep, I agree, when I go there I buy a side order of ships and 10 bottles of fire sauce. That's the only thing good there, is there sauce. Everything else tastes like 5 year old oil.
 
IMG_20240220_185258.jpgThe Holomplof sauce has a great flavour and a decent bite.(ghost and reaper) The siracha has good flavour too, just needs a bit more kick, though my son thinks it's fine.

But that being said, chili is truly South American, so he is not wrong on both counts LOL

I have noticed that this is more a northern South African thing. The Xhosa people down in the EC are not that fond of spice. We only have three chicken lickens in EC as far as I can see which is sad because that hot sauce is great. Its seems Tswana people are more fond of hot foods. When I was in Bots I had some of the best hot wings in my life. Lots of spicy foods up north.

Lol. Yeah at the hot sauce festival last year. Reached the end of all my homemade sauces and this was all that's left. Going to get to the market soon and pick up a bunch of peppers and make more sauce.
